Depending on the size, I might be willing to give ten stages a chance.
I really hope that Pac-Man idea of yours flies, it sounded like a great solution to the game's seemingly most obvious flaw.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
What's interesting is that infinite world, during the platforming segments, has infinitely repeating stages. We've seen it before, so I'd love to see it implemented in Sparking.

73 characters, NOT counting transformations... I'm sold!

I hope one of those 10 stages is a winter one. I like battling in the snow best.

I think one of the PS2 games actually had a winter stage where it was snowing AS you fought.

Rain would be nice too...or a night time battle...

Wouldn't count on it. It's probably 10 generic DBZ stages.
If challenge had a taste, you'd be quite delicious.

I just realized that I never posted a source other than that xbox site for the info (73 characters, 10 stages, online tournament, ext). Just so it's clear, this information is legit. It's from Atari France... Which is a little confusing; I thought Namco-Bandai was publishing the game in Europe. I'm trying to find a link but I lost it a while ago. I guess I'll go back to the Atari forums to find it... Needle in a hay stack. Hay stack composed entirely of poor grammar and the same shit repeated over and over.

That'd be so disappointing to me. :( I prefer to have a wide variety of stages instead of a wide variety of fighters.

What can I say, I like scenery.
Infact if I were in charge of a game I'd try to come up with new and inventive backdrops to add to the usual lineup and mix things up a bit. Why not have them battle under hostile weather conditions? Racing games do it all the time.

I mean unless its forced upon me by Story Mode, I don't play as anyone except for:
-Goku
-Vegeta
-Piccolo
-Chi-Chi

And sometimes Arale.

Other than those four, that's pretty much it for me. ^^;

I honestly don't think there's any character that I've wanted to play that hasn't already been released in a previous game. (Examples: Adult Chi-Chi, Turles, Arale.)

I think I'd like to play as Bura, if she were available as a playable character.
On hiatus.

Why not?
I already said why. There's less characters and less stages.

No matter how you look at it, if you take the transformations away and even the phases (early/mid/end) it's still at least 10 characters less them Meteor. Now if we are to expect some new characters, that means that more than 10 characters will be cut from Meteor.

And also, more than 10 stages were cut. Personally, I'm in the Sparking! games for the characters and stages. I don't care that much about the graphics or gameplay, sure, if it is more polished, the better! But characters and stages is what really sells the game for me.

73 characters means no next-gen Arale for sure.
And here i was hoping for Obotchan, Senbei and Mashirito :(

I wouldn't worry too much about the number of stages and characters.

Don't you people know it's the latest fad to release 80% of your games content in the retail copy and then charge extra for the last 20% to be available later as Downloadable Content.

They look just fine from where I'm sitting.
Pain wrote:4. The story mode was so confusing a rushed that a non-fan would know absolutely nothing about the current story that is supposed to be taking place.
1. At least it had one.
2. How is that different from Budokai 2 or 3?
Pain wrote:5. There are 0 narratives in this game. No big summaries that tell you what's happening or anything. This will leave newcomers to the Dragonball World very confused.
And Final Bout wouldn't?
Pain wrote:6. This game was 100% fan service.
We're fans. I don't see how that's a problem for us.
Pain wrote:7. The American cover art was....disgraceful.
1. What does that have to do with the quality of the game itself? Nuthin', dat's what.
2. It wasn't THAT bad...
Pain wrote:Yes, I fully understand that Final Bout was horrible and that it had no story mode
Oh.

Anyway, on topic, uh... Nice screenshots...! :D

Budokai 2 had a snow stage(I forget what it was called) where you could knock a chracter into a cutscene and cause an avalanche.

Hmmm...what if the RB stages WE'RE all an Open World scenario, with in-fight cutscenes transferring you between worlds?(Like in the Budokai games)

Muscle Tower from Sparking Meteor was also snowy, although it wasn't snowing as you fought.

That would be pretty cool. I really hope they made the stages a little bigger too, since there are only 10 this time.

Stages that have weather effects would be cool. Like one where it is snowing or raining, with lighting and stuff going on in the background. Also having the rain drops bounce off/melt before hitting the characters.

Based on what we've seen so far I doubt we'll get anything that impressive. :P

The mediocrity of the changes to these dbz games is really frustrating. They all are essentially the same game with miniscule changes. This is on ps3/360 now, there is no reason why the first screens shouldn't have been mind blowing. Instead, it is rehashed with minor changes.

I guess Spike and Dimps are going with the policy of "If it ain't boken, then don't fix it" attitude. People constantly buy new Dragon Ball games each year, even if it is just the same old crap all over again. I suppose that's why they don't change anything.

Although with this game, it's too early for us to judge really, we'll just have to wait and see.
