These games rocked! From them, I pretty much learned about the entire story from Dragon Ball to the Freeza Arc. After playing the first one, I really got interested in watching/reading the original Dragon Ball series. And I'm glad I did, because it's awesome! These games got me into Dragon Ball, and helped me in the bits of Dragon Ball Z that I had never read/seen.
Now, I have read about 40% of the manga, seen about 65% of the series (with overlap, obviously) and filled in the gaps with these games. Good times.
And the alternate paths were pretty cool, but some of them were a bit shallow: in one path, you can let Kami kill Piccolo during the 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai, and the screen flashes to a message that says that Raditz killed everyone. You could have showed us!
But one of my favorites was the one where Piccolo kills Goku with a Makenkosappo (Raditz dodges), and Gohan kills Piccolo. Raditz takes him and Gohan becomes evil, working with Raditz, Nappa and Vegeta.
Spoiler Question:
Has anyone seen the final "easter egg" battle with Piccolo (in Super Goku Den 2)? Supposedly you get it when you get 100% Story, Technique and Battle. However, to get 100% Technique, you need to unlock Goku's last X Attack, which can only be done if you have the password from the first game, and... yeah. If there's a video of what happens, I'd be very grateful!

I agree. This game was pretty fun. I really liked how you could change the sequences that originally happened in the Manga. Like, instead of tossing the frog to save Vegeta from Ginyu, you just let him take Vegeta's body. Freeza later takes out Ginyu/Vegeta because he looks like Vegeta. Or if you allow Krillin to kill Vegeta on earth--Gurd eventually destroys Gohan and Krillin on namek without Vegeta being there to save them.
Mostly everything in that game alone destroys any crappy what-if's in these other games.
