Why would it have only 13 episodes? It'd obviously have 28-33, I'm guessing, that's where I'd leave it...Jackal puFF wrote:That's a lot of money just for 13 episodes.

I would say:
Season 1: 1-28 (Emperor Pilaf, Tournament)
Season 2: 29-57 (Red Ribbon Army, General Blue)
Season 3: 58-83 (Commander Red, Fortuneteller Baba)
Season 4: 84-122 (Tenshinhan, Piccolo Daimao)
Season 5: 123-153 (Piccolo Junior)
This would be if they were trying to perfectly fit in their FUNimation mini sagas.

Well the problem is both Tenshinhan and Piccolo Sagas are too short for what I'd consider enough episodes to call "a season", having both of them would equate to 39 episodes which isn't too long (it would be a very popular season).B wrote:I'd split those, but that's just me. Also, they kind of go good together because the Piccolo Saga starts exactly when the Tenshinhan Saga ends, its also good for Season 3 because Red Saga also flows into Baba.
The only real problem is having to put the first 2/3 of RRA in Season 2 and the final third in Season 3 but at the least there's a time gap between episodes 57 and 58 so it works.
Jeez I feel so nerdy.

Tenshinhan Saga/22nd Strongest Under the Heavens arc is 18 episodes, that's definately enough. King Piccolo is 21.
I'd say at the least, for any show, 15+ episodes is a season.
EDIT: I also find Red/Baba arcs to go well together since they flwo seamlessly, as we still need Dragon Ball #7.

Well, that's true, but it would be inconsistent with the Z and GT sets, which show to have a minimum of 25 episodes per set.B wrote:Tenshinhan Saga/22nd Strongest Under the Heavens arc is 18 episodes, that's definately enough. King Piccolo is 21.

Yeah, if you think about it, the plot for the whole Season 3 is really to just revive Bora, so it works out really good.

I'm sorry, that just can't be true.Innagadadavida wrote:The Z set outrage pales in comparison to the outrage over Evolution.
Evolution caused controversy, no doubt, but everybody was more than prepared for that. Even supporters of the film knew it was going to take liberties. It was no surprise.
The widescreen revelation came out of nowhere, with no warning whatsoever, and it affected a larger group of people. If you weren't into the live-action movie, you could just ignore it. You couldn't do that here. It changed everything about FUNi's presentation of the series, possibly forever, and it was being presented as the only option for owning the show. No matter what kind of fan you were, dubbie, subbie, whatever, for the first real time, every kind of fan had a legit reason to be pissed at FUNi (even if you weren't in Region One).
The internet exploded with rage. Even fans who couldn't care less about DragonBall were pissed at FUNi. There were numerous heated threads on this forum dedicated to the situation, most of them 50 pages or more, FUNi's forums were an absolute mess (I can't even describe it; it was almost impossible to moderate), AnimeonDVD flat-out refused to review the sets, and FUNi's reputation was permanently damaged with not only DB fans, but with pretty much the entire anime fanbase.
The live-action movie couldn't have done that if it had tried. That was way too big of a situation for FUNi not to learn from it. Sure, FUNi stopped caring what we thought once the sets started selling like hotcakes, but surely they don't want to open that can of worms again. If Dragon Ball is cropped as well, then I will be very surprised.
EDIT: But just in case, I'm all for that "e-mail FUNi" thing.

Seriously, though, am I the only one pissed that they won't be putting out the Saga of Goku?? I mean, come on, it's the ONE dvd that is missing from the collection... If I were to buy season one and then line it next to the rest of my saga sets, it just wouldn't look right.
I know that a lot of time has passed since their initial releases, but the same thing happened with the release of the Jackass MTV show. They released vol.'s 2 and 3, but never volume 1. When they finally attained the rights for those episodes years later, they finally put out volume one concurrently with the complete box set. Sure, it would have been useless to pick up if you didn't have the other releases, but it was "throwing a bone" to those who were screwed over the first time.
Come on, Funimation!!! This isn't like the Ultimate Uncut sets!! There's only ONE set left to make this the perfect release! I have been waiting patiently.

I think he meant as a FUNi 2-disc like what Madman released in Australia and New Zealand.B wrote:Where does it say that?Smooth Criminal wrote:Seriously, though, am I the only one pissed that they won't be putting out the Saga of Goku??
Now onto my opinion. FUNi I don't know if this is true or not, but if it is congrats because I have been looking for the 2-disc sets for quite sometime and only found the Tenshinhan set, and now that you are releasing season sets I can get Dragon Ball cheaper than laying a lot of money down on the 2-discs.

Hmm.. Maybe, when it comes to the fan outrage over the cropped season sets, I just didn't get the full picture (pun intended).MagicBox wrote:The internet exploded with rage. Yes! Please do. I've sent two already.MagicBox wrote:EDIT: But just in case, I'm all for that "e-mail FUNi" thing.
Just for the record though, my opinion on the sets hasn't changed. I will still buy them if they're cropped because that stuff doesn't matter to me much. I just want to see these sets succeed. I'm doing this for you guys who do care.
Heh, I'm so selfless. </sarcasm>
I doubt that petitioning and e-mailing Funi will work the second time around. Just saying.
