You know I'm not going to blame Funimation for this. But I will blame them for not giving a straight answer, on how long Lionsgate owns the rights. Oh well back to downloading I go. They want to put it in dvd sets I will buy them.
You know I don't even care about the first 13 episodes. The Pilaf saga is the worst in the series. But those 13 are preventing the release of the rest of the series. I wish they would put what they own on dvd and release Pilaf saga as season 0 or something.

FUNi's reps have proven to not be completely reliable at cons, so I've decided that I'm going to remain in denial and wait for FUNi's September solicitations. They should be out within ten days. If the set's there, then great. If it's not, then we just go back to the way it's been for years now.
Plus, guys, the Saga of Goku set HAS been discontinued. That has to mean something.

Exactly! I refuse to budge from this excitement until I see some hard evidence that we're not getting Season One...MagicBox wrote:Plus, guys, the Saga of Goku set HAS been discontinued. That has to mean something.
Well, right now it's all just speculation, but it was all the same when DBZ Season One came out, and even DBGT.
Now referring back to the screen caps Tanooki posted on Page 1.
They actually look nice cropped like that, but the picture is ass.
If there wasn't some hope, FUNi would have probably requested they take down the listing by now.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
The "saga of Goku" is episodes 1-13.Smooth Criminal wrote:Did I say the first 13 episodes won't be in season one?B wrote:Where does it say this "Season 1" is not going to have the first 13 episodes? No. Learn to read. I said "The Saga of Goku," meaning, the first saga set.
Calm the fuck down, and please refrain from calling me "kid."

Awesome! If it turns out these sets really aren't coming out, then I will definitely get them in that case.Captain Awesome wrote:Madman themselves will ship it internationally.Metalwario64 wrote:.
I guess it's time to import the Madman sets... Anyone know of a good site that ships to the U.S that isn't Ebay?

Will Dragonball ever let my wallet rest? If this is true that's very good news.
I will definitely pick these up seeing as how I just completed the Z season sets. I do think there is still a chance this product will exist didn't the same thing happen with Z and GT?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but if you read the thread, it was confirmed false.NeptuneKai wrote:Will Dragonball ever let my wallet rest? If this is true that's very good news.

As reported before, Funi has given false information at anime cons.Metalwario64 wrote:Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but if you read the thread, it was confirmed false.NeptuneKai wrote:Will Dragonball ever let my wallet rest? If this is true that's very good news.

The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

Yup I did read the thread thus reading why it could be true or why it could be false. Thanks for presuming I didn't though!Raki wrote:As reported before, Funi has given false information at anime cons.Metalwario64 wrote:Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but if you read the thread, it was confirmed false.NeptuneKai wrote:Will Dragonball ever let my wallet rest? If I don't see something in the way of a Dragonball release from Funimation soon, I may just send them oh... say $300 and download the entire series via bittorrent.
*That was sarcasm. I felt a need to point this out because I have noticed a startling lack of the ability to detect it by some forum members as of late.

So...if Lionsgate has a renewal clause in the contract without a sunset provision, which would mean there is no definite answer, do you still blame FUNimation? Besides, if you really want to not be a freeloading asshole, you can buy the sets FUNi released via Madman in Australia. Or the DragonBoxes, but the Madman sets have subtitles and are less expensive.Victator Supreme wrote:You know I'm not going to blame Funimation for this. Gotta love excuses people come up with. And please note I'm not gonna get into the "downloading debate," I just don't like Victator's tone. Especially since there is an affordable, English alternative.

Nope. Like nearly every other Japanese domestic release, they're in Japanese only. No subtitles, English or otherwise (not even a Japanese subtitle track).Krakabeast wrote:The DragonBoxes don't have subtitles?MajinVejitaXV wrote: Or the DragonBoxes, but the Madman sets have subtitles and are less expensive.
