DragonBall Kai songs heavily influenced by past songs?
While the poster of these comparison videos is stretching things a bit by claiming that "Dragon Soul" and "Yeah! Break! Care! Break!" are copies of "Dan Dan Kokoro Hikareteku" and "What is my Destiny DragonBall," I do have to admit that they sound pretty damn similar.
Here are the videos:
Dragon Soul and Dan Dan Kokoro Hikareteku
Yeah! Break! Care! Break! and What is my Destiny DragonBall?
He had to speed up Dan Dan and What is my Destiny a bit so that they would sync properly with the opening and ending animations.
While I'm not saying anything is being stolen, they do sound pretty similar, which is nothing I'm going to complain about since I love all of these songs.

I can't quite put my finger on it, but I've heard some parts of BGM in Kai that sounded very familiar.
Some tracks kinda sound like Budokai music, while other tracks seem to remind me of ol' SNES Dragonball games.

Usually goes by "Kevtrev" elsewhere online.
Draws comics that may or may not have been blatantly inspired by Akira Toriyama's manga.

That makes much more sense, since Kenji Yamamoto has been doing the game music for a couple decades, nowTrunksTrevelyan0064 wrote:I can't quite put my finger on it, but I've heard some parts of BGM in Kai that sounded very familiar.

RE: the original post... I dunno. I see it a little bit, but I think some of this stuff is just people stretching for comparisons where there just aren't any. Some parts of songs are going to sound similar to people just because there are a limited number of ways to combine sounds together to make music.

Y'know, after all that negative comments I had to make aobut the music. It really isn't THAT BAD. Nothing as epic as the original DBZ score, but damn the fucking opening and ending is so badass. I completely it. I am planning on buying the single for it. The BKCRND msuic though, I dunno. I like it, but it's just not as epic as I stated before.
ALSO thoguh it's not KAI related, I just got my friend hooked on DBZ, and he already said to me, the english music sucks compared to the Japanese music. He can't escape the option becuase his DVD player is so old that it takes him to the enlgish bckgrnd music with enlgish cast.
Come to think of it now, it'd be weird to hear the english bckrnd music with Japanese audio. Will somebody put together a vid clip and post a link? It woul dbe interesting, although not as epic. I'll stop now I'm trashed. Have fun guys debating on what bckrnd music is better!

This has happened to me a lot of times, there is a light similarity right after "Dokkan dokkan tsuriteru" and it happens every time I reach that part, although lately I've been able to stop itChuquita wrote:I have accidentally lapsed into humming Dan Dan while originally humming Dragon Soul, but its probably just because I have Dan Dan memorized a lot more.
Both songs are distinctly different from one another.
