January 1st, 1970 is a common date for these sorts of glitches. This applies to Proboards too, at the least. Not sure the meaning behind it. I just think it's cool to pretend like it is 1970 again. We're oldschool. We predate even the webmail newsgroups by a decade.

I believe this date is so common because it is the equivalent of the UNIX time value of 0. UNIX time is a common way of approximating date on the internet and through computer applications; basically, it measures the number of seconds that have passed since January 1st, 1970 in order to determine what time that it currently is. As such you could imagine it's pretty accurate, though it doesn't have a centiseconds measurement. =P

There's your tidbit of the day, though! I'm guessing the error is just due to a database read error. Nothing to worry about.
