You seem to be doing pretty well, though.

I mean, if he could then why would Vegeta and Pan act the way they had when they realised that Goku wasn't coming back? Goku's left them too many times for them to even be surprised, and let's face it, Vegeta was already growing old. If the prince knew he was going to meet Goku in the afterlife he wouldn't be strcken at all.

My opinion is that Goku cannot get into contact with anyone from his past or future, except on certain occasions, and the afterlife isn't one of them.

That's the whole point of his fate, isn't it? Immortality, with the consequence of total seclusion from the revolving world, like a prisoner on the outside, only able to look in. Unnconnected. Unbonded. Unreal.

Anyone agree? Anyone dis- agree?

I'm not so sure about that. If Goku was able to meet Goku Jr, why wouldn't he be able to in afterlife?

He probably could only visit the afterlife for one day in the same way that he could only visit the Earth for one day.

What about Lunch? Shit, Toriyama forgot about her. And she was a main character!

Even if that's the case, how bad would that be for him? He loves his friends and family, sure. But he also is fairly aloof, and doesn't seem to mind being away from any of them for years on end.

I don't know. Going through a ten-year length period away from everyone who knew you seems less harsh than being separated until even eternity passes.

I'd like to also point out that we don't know as much of Goku as we know of the other characters. Goku seems aloof, yes, but I think even he might feel a slight pain at the fact that his fate is condemned to wander alone while the rest of the world revolves without him.

And for my sake, no I am not a 'goku forever' supporter. I consider all characters important, by their actions and decisions, and through my own views and opinions. I don't even have an answer for my own topic- all three fates sound equally sad for me.

So, whose fate is worse? pls keep giving your views, it's interesting :D

Oww, that hurt.

Sorry, The Tori-bot.

Well, just call me eager or whatever, but I just want to make my presence known. I'm sorry if it gets annoying.

I'm not mad at anyone, btw,
and I really don't want to start a fight. If you all find the 'I'm new here' signs annoying, then I'll stop

Anyhow, something I've noticed is that many people tend to deviate off-topic as the forums progress. It constantly amuses me , how we all get off-topic and then gets back in line again :D

I'm still keeping track with the tracker , by the way.

So, back to the topic...

How about 17's fate?

Getting turned to someone who he wasn't.. and dying in that state. His life was easily replaced, and he died not as himself- literally.

But I suppose since he's a villain in the end fans don't reall think of him that much.

I feel sorry for this guy.

Maybe he doesn't quite have the ''worst fate'', but he certainly doesn't have one of the best. Blue was my most memorable character from Dragonball. He brought comedy value, especially when Bulma's making moves for him, then when he crosses over into Penguin Village, and again when he returns to the Red Ribbon HQ.

Then again, Blue also has a serious side. He's very loyal to the Red Ribbon, he's very persistent and followed everything through with great precision.

Blue was also a pretty tough opponent with his martial art skills and his psychic abilities, he was also Goku's main pursuer from the Red Ribbon Army too. I thought it was a little lame when he got cut out of the story so soon, especially getting killed by someone's tongue.

I would have preferred a recurring General Blue, then a recurring Taopaipai.

Then there's the whole part where the anime turns the guy into a pedophile which would be pretty sucky for your resume.

But in terms of an actual choice, I'd have to go with Chichi for all the prementioned reasons. Poor woman gets jerked around the entirety of her marriage, no wonder she's such a nut when Gohan's born.

(btw- I hope this isn't too much of a necropost <__< it's.. 20ish days old? I hope that's alright.)

Should be fine.

Also, belated welcome SaiyanBlood.

ANYWAY, I think Goku might be happy with being immortal, although the only way this could happen is if there were actually stronger opponents for him to fight, instead of being the most powerful being in the universe. The universe is large though, so I'm sure he could have fun going from planet to planet having various adventures. His happy-go-lucky nature would probably allow him to live in the moment in those situations, so I don't think he has it that bad.

Ultimately though, I'm happy with the premise of him being immortal (or, having an indefinite lifespan). The concept of him dying ever doesn't sit well with me. I'm not too crazy about the fact that Vegeta (presumably) dies, although I wouldn't be too surprised if he got immortality either, since he was instrumental in saving the entire universe from Boo and Super Yī Xīng Long.

I wonder if Mr. Satan got immortality somehow? Not that he deserves it or anything, but considering how he has this knack for not dying and always getting out of sticky situations...

I haven't noticed this thread before. Well I believe Chichi had the worst fate for reasons already mentioned. The line she said during the last GT episode "Will you be back for dinner?" (Or something like that) OUCH MAN! I remember that being the unintentional saddest DB moment ever. (Hmm, sounds like a new topic to me).

I wanted to say that Future Trunks had the worst fate. Let's see, most loved ones are dead, check. The human population has been cut down significantly, check. The only heart to heart moment he had his father was good-bye peace sign, check. Must help re-build Earth and pray to what-ever-god-is-left that he's strong enough to protect Earth and its inhabitants for possible future baddies, check.

Hey Trunks life must suck but I'm sure after he defeated the Androids and Cell things started to look up. I hope.

I actually never thought Goku became immortal. I’d like to think he made a ''promise'' to watch over the dragonballs and the way they were used for the next 100 years or so. After that the ''debt'' would have been paid and he could do whatever he wanted to do. Piccolo and Vegeta? I don't feel very sorry for them because they don't look like the type that would have regrets for whatever they choose to do. ChiChi on the other hand....yeah, she's got it bad  Hey, at least she ends up with a smile on her face in GT.
All in all I was more concerned about the fate that Toei gave Vegeta right after Z. He cuts his hair? He grows a moustache? He cares what his daughter says about his moustache !? Vegeta? Really?

I believe the Androids had the worst fate, they were humans who were taken and probably had countless painful experiences and were cut open and experimented on, they would never see their family again or be normal.

The villains have it tough too.

The prize must go to Mirai no Gohan.
He only appears in a fraction of a chapter, get's killed away (not without style though). I mean we lost a totally bad ass characters, that outshines Vejita in that department

The Gohan in Trunks' timeline did get a shitty end, but didn't all the warriors in that timeline, except Trunks? He went out like a hero and undoubtably went to heaven, living in paradise (most likely with 2 arms).

I'd say the worst ending for any character of the show would be (as most seem to agree) Chi-Chi. She really lived a crappy life, losing her husband time and time again. Goku must be backing some beast of a tail, because she's loyal as hell. I don't really need to say why Chi-Chi, it's been said time and time again in this thread.
I'd love to say "Goku trains Oob from home!", but to be honest, I'd also be saying everything else in Neko Majin is canon also, including Vegeta's fourth wall breaking. That'd kind of kill the universe.
