Anime DVD Supply has DBZ sale
I signed up at the site a while back because they had some awesome prices for entire series. I checked my email recently and they just added some Dragon Ball.

A couple of things:
(1) This is the 276 episode release by FUNi and will have the edits and cuts made in the first few arc to widdle down time.
(2) You're going to need to use the link provided to get to the page because they don't have Dragon Ball listed in their All Anime lists.
(3) There's a picture of GT intermixed with the Z pics and I've seen them do it before. But there's no GT in the offer.

... Those are bootlegs.
EDIT: In fact, after having a look around... all of their DVDs are bootlegs.

Yeah, I saw Ronin Warriors DVDs on there. No way they have those cause RW has been out of print for years. The Tori-bot wrote:... Those are bootlegs.

The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

I am ... I am going to cry ...
It just had many awesomely priced stuff. I haven't ordered anything from there yet. But, seriously, that just ruined my weekend.

Cheer up, it happens to the best of us. I've made the mistake of actually ordering bootlegs on Amazon (wasn't as careful as I am now). In this case, I was ordering Sailor Moon sets that were virtually identical to the R1 listings, but slightly cheaper (by about $20 a set). I ended up sending some very nasty emails to the seller when I figured out my mistake, and got a refund.Anonymous Friend wrote:Are you for real? I think I may just cry.

Now that I'm somewhat over it, how do you spot these things before I try to order from somewhere else? If I should happen to order and recieve it, how do I know that it's bootleg? Is it something on the actual discs, or the DVD menu?
I don't want to start a "How do I spot a bootleg seller?" or "How do I know if I have bootleg discs?" But if it needs to be, I'll do it.

I don't mean to be a dick, but how could you not tell those were bootlegs. I knew they were as soon as I saw "This is the 276 episode release by FUNi and will have the edits and cuts made in the first few arc to widdle down time."
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Well, to his credit, some stores do still carry the Pioneer releases of the Funimation/Saban dub from 1996. Remember, before the UUE and Season Set releases, this was the only way you could get the Saiyan and Namek arcs on DVD in America.jjgp1112 wrote:I don't mean to be a dick, but how could you not tell those were bootlegs. It's very easily done, No worries I have done exactly the same thing before. Some bootlegs are really really convincing this is what makes them so naughty.
Sometimes it's virtually impossible to tell they are dodgy copies at all; It all depends if it's done by a 'professional' on a large-scale, or by the next door neighbour cloning dvds on his pc.
Still... Bootlegs are bad, The price dvds have dropped to these days you may as well get a legitimate copy which will play better and hopefully last longer.
