Ah, that reminds me, a few of the GT fights weren't half bad themselves and are certainly underrated. It's just that post-Baby the fights sort of...fall apart (save for the Si Xing Long battle).

Underrated:

Kuririn vs. Anyone

People seem to have this strange idea that Kuririn is a weak character, and they're right if they compare him to the Saiyajin characters. But, Kuririn really does come through in hard times.
Agreed. Kuririn's a fantastic fighter, so I always wonder why his more iconic battles are often forgotten. He does have a bit of a losing streak, but it's not the outcome that matters, it's what you do. His fight with Goku is an instant classic, and I love how (at least in the anime), it's kinda told from his perspective. Like, he goes into the fight knowing that he's going to lose, and then when he stops and thinks about it, he realizes "Wait, why DO I have to lose? I've been training too." The rest of the fight then is kinda seen through his eyes until the very end when he pulls a fast one on Goku, and I really like that. I like that idea. The fights with Goku are always so predictable because you KNOW who's going to win, so to see a character stop and think about "wait, why does it have to be that way" and then really try to overcome him and even almost succeed is a real treat.

Then his fight with Piccolo is a real turning point because that's where Kuririn really grows up. In the last two tournaments, Kuririn always loses after blindly charging at his opponent and then getting beaten. He doesn't do that here. Instead of being a dumbass and stupidly charging Piccolo, he realizes "I really can't do this" and drops out of the match. That's one of the smartest things I've seen a character do in the series, and a great indication of how mature Kuririn has become since the series started.

And who's to say he doesn't have victories? He kills most of the Saibaimen with one attack (something that people seem to always overlook, for whatever reason). His fight with Punter is underrated in my opinion because of how funny it is, and considering we don't get many funny "non-Mr-Satan" fights in the latter half of DragonBall, that stands out. He held his own against Cell and even damaged him in a filler fight, and he cuts off Freeza's tail and almost kills him with a barrage of Kienzan discs. He's actually the first person in the series to really do that kind of damage to Freeza, right? I don't think anyone else can say they cut off a body part of Freeza's and lived to tell about it. That must have been a pretty big blow to Freeza's pride.

But to get back on-topic, I think Goku's fight with Ginger and Nicky is really underrated. It's probably my favorite fight in the whole series. It's funny, amazingly choreographed, and very action-packed. I wish we had more swordfights in DragonBall (and no, Trunks cutting somebody in half isn't a swordfight).

This fight really showed how much stronger Gohan had become, and how much he had changed since the start of the series. He becomes a gutsy little kid who starts to fight for his own beliefs.
Didn't he just get his neck broken?
Pretty much, yeah... haha.

Agreed, agreed, agreed. You basically said it all for me. Especially that part about him doing damage to Cell in the filler.
