I also compared it to clips from Madman singles and the colors look better than those. So hopefully these sets will look good. Obviously there was no reason for Funi to crop it.

Oh yeah, some of the other shots in the trailer are the same amount of... zoomed in as the Madman DVD, and some are actually zoomed out slightly further, and looking at how.... much... we gained from the comparison one page back, we could actually get more of a picture on these sets.

I guess the rumors about FUNi having better masters for Dragon Ball were true... but we should really reserve judgement until the final product is released.

I'm probably way off base, but was there some deal with the original score that FUNimation couldn't get for Z? I remember distinctly someone saying a piece of music was missing during the Buu arc with Majin Vegeta.

If this did happen, is there a chance it will here, as well?

Maybe they thought that it gave the trailer a more EPIC feel. Funimation does seem to think like a 12 year old when it comes to those things.

I don't see why they'd zoom in for the trailer. Godofchaos said in the chat that FUNimation has newer prints of Dragon Ball than Dragon Ball Z.

Funi just randomly frames stuff. Even when they cropped the Z sets. I was comparing to Season 8 screencaps from the same episode to their Funi single counterparts. For one sceencap, Season 8 had a significant amount of footage cropped at the top compared to the single and very little on the bottom, and vice versa for the second screencap.

EDIT: And Godofchaos was the one who said Funi had better Dragon Ball masters. That pretty much confirms it's true because he knows so much top secret info. (wasn't he the one who reported the Dragon Ball DS game months before it was announced?)
