Piccolo and Tenshinhan (Buu Saga)

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

Piccolo and Tenshinhan (Buu Saga)

Post by Kid Buu » Fri Dec 17, 2004 12:34 am

I know Vegeta and Goku kept training while Gohan, Kuririn, etc. stopped So, my question is: Did Tien and Piccolo stop training after the Cell Saga?

Piccolo's become the obligatory uncle figure (greatest character development in the series). As to whether or not he still "trains," I'm sure he does. For the most part, he seems to have taken on a sort of mentor-figure for Dende (due to both Nail and Kami-sama becoming one with him).

I can almost guarantee you that Tenshinhan's out in the mountains training his ass off. Unlike some of the other characters (like Yamcha), Tenshinhan's a warrior above all else (like a family man, or... wanna-be pimp in yellow jacket ^_~). You know he's out there gettin' his Ki on.

Please try not to infer anything with that last comment. Kill :P.

Some argue that Tenshinhan wasn't training because he stated that no one will ever see him again when he left after the Cell Games, and I counter with Vegeta's statement of "I'LL NEVER FIGHT AGAIN!"

*LMFAO*

*ehem*

Yes... anyway... input...

I've never believed that Tien stopped training after the Cell Games. So what if he could never catch Goku? So what if no one would ever see him again? He's a loner by nature and a warrior at heart. He is most definately out there training. That's why I think... nevermind, don't want to get into a power level debate. ^^;

As for Piccolo. I'm sure he kept training as well but probably not to the same degree as before, or even as much as Tien. But I can't see him not training either.

Piccolo certainly didn't train. Babidi told Dabura to "take out the weak ones", and who went? Kibito, Kuririn, and Piccolo.
Pui Pui was stronger than Kaioushin, based on the fact that he said they needed to gang up on Pui Pui, yet base Vegeta was stronger than Pui Pui. At the Budoukai, Piccolo said that there was too big a difference between their strengths. Base form Saiyans>Kaioushin>Piccolo
Since Piccolo was stronger than the SSj forms in the Cell Saga, and he is now weaker than their bases, he must have not trained.

Me thinks it's time to make further additions to the rules...

If it gets the point across, why does it bother you? It doesn't make you look bad when it's done on every forum, for any anime, when comparing strength.

You are misinterpreting Piccolo's statement. He refused to fight the Supreme Kai because he knew he was a superior being, a god. He has Kami inside of him, who was a lesser god, so as such Piccolo could sense who the Supreme Kai was. Doesn't mean he's stronger, it meant that Piccolo, out of respect, did not want to fight him.

And Piccolo always was an amazing fighter, so I doubt he would stop training, out of respect for HIMSELF. He probably didn't gain a significant amount, but he most likely trained enough to maintain his powerlevel. Just the type of character Piccolo is, not a slacker.

And about Dabura's statement, they were going strictly by the kili readings. Now Piccolo out of all of those present, could manipulate his ki the best, and as such was probably suppressing it the most. Plus, there is no evidence that Dabura could even sense ki properly, just like how the Kais sucked at it.

It gets the point across that the person writing it saw it once on another forum and thought it was cool and started incorporating it into their every-day use. Baaah-baaah, sheep.

As this is my forum, I get to draw the rules. Those who are guests in the domain of another agree to follow those rules.

It doesn't look cool, I find it obnoxious, and it makes me feel like I'm not looking at the Daizenshuu EX forum. The whole social experiment of this forum is to make it completely different from others, and by allowing people to use new-fangled Internet/DBZ/board trends, that's not really accomplishing the mission/goal.

Sorry if you feel that's coming down a little hard, but I just can't stand that crap ^^.

I started seeing that a long time ago at GameFAQs. It was okay to see something like "At that point Vegeta > Goku in power" but soon it was "GOKU>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>MRSATAN>>>>j00 IMO" and I never wanted to see it again. I welcome any policy against that.

Sorry if my mind has just been permanently damaged by those things. :P

But as long as you don't say "OMFG j00 MAMA<<<<j00<<<PICCOLO LOL LOL", and you're being serious, I don't see the problem. It's not like it's a bad thing, is it's not like you're saying "1337 Vegeta LOL LMAO n00b!", it means something.

1. No, Piccolo and Goku agreed that there was a strength difference between himself and Kaioushin.
2. Babidi and Dabura didn't read their Kili ratings, Dabura commented on how they were hiding their Ki, thinking Dabura wouldn't notice.

Why even allow it in the first place? You give a foot, they take a leg.

It's really not open to debate. It looks stupid, I don't like it, and it's my forum. *tosses down the gavel* It's not like you're being told you can't express yourself and your thoughts; you simply can't do it in a short-hand (and utterly stupid) way. Again, this isn't your average forum... it's the Daizenshuu EX board, and we're not every other board. Not going to allow it to be.

This brings up the question: what's the deal with Kuririn? Did he keep training or just settle down and become a family man? I like to think he kept training but only because Kuririn is such a great character.

I don't think Kuririn trained, but he can still be a great character. I used to really hate the fact that Gohan stopped training, but now I realize that it's just character development. He doesn't like fighting, and Kuririn has no reason to fight.

WWWAAAAYYY back in DB, Kuririn said that he trained to get a girlfriend. He was a married man by Buu's Saga, so, it's logical that he stopped training.( And I'm almost sure that he himself said that he had stopped training.)

Dabura can't sense ki so how he figured who was the strongest three is beyond me. Fact is, it was just a plot device to spotlight the Saiyans.

I hear this a lot, and it really seems like it's not based on any true information.

Yes.

Even if it were true, Dabura cannot sense his ki anyway, or anybody's for that matter.
