Young Jeezy song samples faulconer's DBZ Pikkon theme?
This may have been discussed before but I came across this and it is kinda interesting. Also it says on wiki. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Inspiration

Aka gtadbzman.
Now, if only a good rapper did a song over it. Like a Wu-Tang Clan member.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

No, he's right. RZA's more into orchestretic type stuff. And DBZ's anime and influenced by Kung-Fu clips, so RZA would be all over it if he could afford to sample Japanese DBZ stuff.Big Boss wrote:Umm, no I don't think they would.Raki wrote:They would probably use the original score.jjgp1112 wrote:Now, if only a good rapper did a song over it. The RZA is too busy making music for Afro Samurai anyways.jjgp1112 wrote:No, he's right. RZA's more into orchestretic type stuff. Yeah, it was only the intro, and that's about it.B wrote:Eh, to say he sampled it is a stretch, IMO.

Re: Young Jeezy song samples faulconer's DBZ Paikuhan theme?
I'm the one who actually recorded the original Pikkon theme and to me it doesn't sound like Jeezy sampled it.Budokai23 wrote:This may have been discussed before but I came across this and it is kinda interesting. Also it says on wiki. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Inspiration
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qCNLb8OjfdU The song's call "U Know What It Is".
1) The low choir sound is missing
2) His sound has a harder attack to it than mine
3) Its a different key with different chords
It's remotely possible he processed the heck out of it to make it sound like that, but I doubt it. There's DBZ like synths all over that album (especially in "U Know What it is") that no-one would claim were samples from the show. For instance the eighth note arpeggio that comes sounds very DBZ to me but is clearly not a sample.

Actually, the beginning part of the Pikkon song was sampled for the intro of the Jeezy song, but that's it.cRookie_Monster wrote:I'm the one who actually recorded the original Paikuhan theme and to me it doesn't sound like Jeezy sampled it.Budokai23 wrote:This may have been discussed before but I came across this and it is kinda interesting. The Moral of the story: Only the beginning of the Pikkon theme is sampled.

Right, that's what people say and I disagree for the reasons stated above in my previous post.jjgp1112 wrote:Actually, the beginning part of the Paikuhan song was sampled for the intro of the Jeezy song, but that's it.cRookie_Monster wrote:I'm the one who actually recorded the original Paikuhan theme and to me it doesn't sound like Jeezy sampled it.Budokai23 wrote:This may have been discussed before but I came across this and it is kinda interesting.
