It's actually Scott Morgan's and Mike Smith's. :P

It's very unlikely that they DON'T keep the two versions of the dub. Stop complaining, please.

All I was trying to do is make my point, and you guys are acting like I have no right to even want it there.

Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Because we don't know what the DVDs will have on them exactly, so it's not worth complaining about yet?

Or maybe you've been getting catered to for 13 years, and now it's our turn?

Am I right?
Yes. That's exactly why. I want to have the option to listen to whatever dub score I damn well please in 4:3 and in good quality.

Funi is marketing these sets that find those music options irrelevant. Kinda like how they marketed the season sets to those who found picture quality and aspect ration irrelevant.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

Err... Yeah. Not so much.

I can see why one would want to have both NA dubs included, and it would certainly cover all their bases, but at the same time, it's hardly reasonable to expect FUNi to include both. No other series that they release gets more than one English dub, and I don't understand why DBZ should be any different.

No one knows for sure at this point, though. There isn't any sense in getting up in arms over it... It was announced less than 12 hours ago.

Having Chris Sabat yell at me about these sets has made me 100x more excited, though.

God damn, this thread is moving fast!

As strongly as I may feel that deliberately asking for Faulconer's score while sober is the same as asking for a vasectomy without local anesthetic, jjgp does raise a good point here.

However...

I'm also inclined to agree that the fact that these sets are DEFALUTED to Japanese with subs (an all time first for FUNimation for anime in general as far as I know, not just Dragon Ball) says pretty loud and clear that the dub fans are (for the first time ever, once again) not really the concern with these releases. Which while shitty for them that they're not being catered to with a Dragon Ball release, and I do sympathize, as DemonRin succinctly put it...

WELCOME TO OUR LIVES FOR THE PAST 13 YEARS.

But I can't, that's how life is. Time is a bitch. The party is over. Kageyama, Kikuchi, and Maeda are off the sauce now; Yanami almost OD'd; Yamamoto got arrested; Toriyama's not going to light trash cans on fire and hang from the chandelier anymore. We can't get the band back together, and even if we could, everyone's either old, in poor health, or calmed way the fuck down. Best we're going to get, and are getting, is a party that's almost entirely devoid of the magic that made the original one so awesome that we even want more.

But the fact of the Matter is, if you're a Dub Fan, the 4:3 releases were MOSTLY complete. You had to put up with the Ocean Cast for the first few seasons, but you could get the entire series English dubbed, in 4:3.

Japanese fans have never been thrown this bone.

I'm not an Ocean fan, though.

And the same for you guys: the 4:3 releases are MOSTLY complete.

And again, I want good quality, not shitty macroblocked quality.

That's the point. A lot of us are hoping they don't pull this "Sticking as much as they can on these discs" BS so we dont lose image quality.

Y'know this makes me wonder...

The Japanese Dragon Box releases for Z were only split in two. One with Goku on it, the other I think with Cell IIRC?

The first FUNi box corresponds with the first Japanese set. Since it's getting split into seven however, what's the art going to be like on the other five sets?
