But hey, whatever. I won't sweat it being fullscreen. I can watch it in that with no problem.
I hope you don't take offense to this, but why do you even want these sets? Every post you've made in this thread points towards you preferring the orange season sets. Just curious about why you would not buy the product that seems better catered to your taste.
People like what they like. Personally, I hated the Season Sets from the start, other prefer the cropping and so-called remastering. Other think this is the best of the best, but to the more geekier crowd, we know better.

To me, even though I own all the Dragon Boxes, will be buying this set DAY 1. I'm selling the Season Sets on eBay in the next few days. There's no point in owning them now, me being a purist and all.

November can't come fast enough!

You know what? I want Dragon Boxes only because of all that bonuses including that unique action figures....... I doubt that the US one will have the same treatment, so yupeeee, American Dragon Boxes! Unfortunately, it's awesome to have the quality with subs and settings that even I can read and fully understand, but I will still go after that Japanese one :x

PS5: Dynamixx88
Trust me, I'm millenial and a designer.

God, I can't wait to get this!
I didn't know that it was Cha-La. I noticed that it sounded similar to Ch-La (as opposed to the HARDCORExRAWK they used for the Bricks) but, if it is Cha-La, I'll be even happier!

Most definitely. These sets are short of garbage by comparison to the Dragon Boxes (R1 or R2). I merely settled for them, in the hopes of having the series in some affordable form, as did most others. If it weren't for the fact that I'm a pack-rat in terms of Dragon Ball merchandise, I would have sold these sets in a heartbeat.

Yeah, they don't look like the characters. It's a shame Akira Toriyama himself didn't draw the art work. [/sarcasm]
Just because Toriyama drew them doesn't mean I have to like them. And I didn't know that he drew them. Are you sure? Some don't even look like his style.

Anyway, as far as the Dub Music goes. I think that very well could be a deciding factor for me on if I buy this or not. I already bought the Season Sets which gives me all 3 Audio Tracks. Though my preference in the music may lie with the Japanese version, that doesn't change the fact that I also enjoy the Dub Music even if mainly for sentimental value. If I were to buy these new sets, odds are I'd sell off my Season Sets at FYE. But if I don't get the option of the English Music, I may just stick with my shitty looking Season Sets.

I don't know. The beginning sounded like Cha-La, but the rest sounded like generic martial arts music and it didn't have that same familiar melody.

I don't think it was exactly HEAD CHA-LA but I think it is something pretty similar, but it's hard to tell with the audio on that clip.

What I find interesting is that while the set isn't the dimensions of the original (obviously), it still seems a little larger than Funi's usual box sets. At least that's what it looks like from a distance.

Y'know what I hope?
I hope there is no Faulconer track on here, and we finally move past the "hardcore" aspect of Dragonball Z. Both tracks should have Kikuchi's original score, so if anybody imports it, they don't need to be dumbfounded by the god awful music on the "3rd" track.
It'd be a completely pure Dragonball experiance, even if you switch to the dub.

Makes me wish I did not spend so much money on the DragonBoxes. Oh well, they are still collectors’ items, and I for one will not be selling mine; I will simply buy the US sets as well to complete my dub collection, and to support a good release (although the choice to put out the Season Sets right before this was very underhanded).

Judging by the size of them, it does not look like they will come with the same extras (like the figures), if any. And who knows what bitrate/processing FUNi will have used for the video; will we be getting noise-reduced, color-altered D.Box video here, or a bit-for-bit copy of what Toei put out? Either way, with the extra audio tracks taking up space they could still end up looking worse than the R2s—probably not by much, but, knowing FUNi…

By the way, are we finally ready to admit that nobody really wanted the Season Sets; people just put up with them because they thought that was their only option? I mean, after all of the pro-widescreen arguments, it seems that in the end, everyone is happier with the correct aspect ratio.
Considering the fact that the last 3 Season sets had great quality with 3 audio options, there's nothing to worry about. And Chris Sabat said, "We didn't change a damn thing."
I said this twice in this thread already, but I'll say it again: The only way they could squeeze three audio tracks into the last set while not killing the picture quality was by heavily reducing the quality of the japanese audio track.

Both versions are now going to be available to us, I don't think we need to go down this road again. Like most people, he probably has a widescreen TV and prefers when the image fills the entire frame. It's not uncommon.

Yeah, I'm double dipping on the boxes too.

And he's entitled to like what he wants, I was just wondering. It just sounded like he was wanting to buy this because everybody else is, as opposed to his actual preferences.

He didn't.

Edit: It was Nakatsuru Katsuyoshi.

This thread is scary. It's moving so fast.

I wonder what will happen when we actually get the DVD's...

Anybody else a little scared that this won't sell as wildly as the Season Sets, due to it's price and focus on the original, and will perhaps get left in the dark like the Ultimate Uncuts?

Thirded, likewise hard. Extremely hard. DBZ is better off without it.
