That is like telling a child that there is an Easter Bunny but no Santa Claus. It is just sick and twisted. If they don't release the other DragonBoxes now I will spend days crying.
And that is bull shit because Santa is much better than that candy-loving, egg-hunting Easter Bunny.
I like my usurped pagan to religious holiday icons to be somewhat based in the religious sector. A symbol for fertility is bull.

Jeez, give an inch and they'll take a mile. Be happy we're even getting this Dragon Box! Only hours ago this release was thought of as an impossible fantasy.
Why should I not expect something that I now know is a possibility for Funimation to do?

Wow! I think there is a god and it's not FUNimation.
Anyways, I can't believe this is going to happen.
FREAKIN' AWESOME!!!!!!
I'm glad I didn't spent one penny on those lame remastered sets. I will, 100%, buy this set to finally get my DragonBall Z episodes DONE RIGHT!!!
But, is 42 episodes worth $80?

Yes...yes they are.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

Remember, that's retail. Most places (especially ones that preorder) tend to do so at a discount - sometimes those discounts are rather large.
This is STILL less than what they pay for the dragonbox in Japan, so I'd say it's worth it.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
Oh come on, that was NOT a "wall-o-text" by my usual standards.

I don't think you saw the true point of my post. I haven't expressed personal interest in two different dub tracks on the forum. Your assumption for the motive of my post was incorrect.

Break it down by episode, it's a bit under $2 an episode at MSRP, and since every smart anime buyer knows, you can always find it for cheaper than MSRP, like Best Buy or Amazon, so while it's not as cheap as the bricks, it's still an awesome value.
Take it from me, I own 3 of the 5 JP DBoxes, and at the prices for the US one, it's sooooooo worth it. I intend on buying it even though I'm double dipping. Way I see it, the way to get FUNi to release DBox versions of everything else is to buy these releases. Good sales will be the motivator.
EDIT: Damn my slow typing!!!!1!

The fact that we're getting
7 books is amazing in itself. Who knows what FUNi may put in them.

How many pages those these 2 books have?

The MSRP for the Season Sets was, what? $50? And you could find them for $30 upon release. I have a feeling these will be $50-ish.

Best we're going to get, and are getting, is a party that's almost entirely devoid of the magic that made the original one so awesome that we even want more.

Me? Great. I'm glad people are finally getting (hopefully, I'm still not 100% trusting of FUNi) what I've had for almost a decade now. I am laughing at those who bought the season sets, exclaiming that nothing better would ever be released, though ;p

Could it be 128 x 2 books divided by 7 books?

Nope. Which means Funi will probably be adding more content. Can't wait to see what it is.

Damn, in total it'd be 560 pages. They must be planning a lot for the booklets.

Well I hope they don't alter the info like they have done on the inserts on their remastered sets.

I think Funi should hire DBW and Herms so they can do detailed breakdowns of the episodes like they do on kanzentai.com. What do you say, guys?
I'd be down with that along with the original Dragonbook material.
