But it fucking sucks, and is not apart of the Dragon Ball franchise.

Sorry to lay it on so thick, but...

Well FUNimation said they didn't have a thing to do with the Dragon Box. So I guess we're getting almost the same thing the Japanese got only that the chnage would be the Japanese text on the menus are translated into English.
I hope you're right. I'd love to see the Japanese DBox menus used for the US release! Those menus are really cool!
I like them as well. Way better than the DBox single menus.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

FUNimation doesn't even have anything to do with it...

And it would cost them way too much to license something from 20th Century Fox.

The Funi single menus were better than those. (Then again, some of the menus that Funi came up with for those were fucking badass. The Cell Games singles come to mind...)
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

They were also made without the consent of the people that own the properties. By that logic, they should load the entire Dragon Ball section of FanFiction.Net as a DVD-ROM supplement. DBE is an offical Dragon Ball movie, and it's not any worse than Lord Slug or Bio Broly.

Sorry, but, for better or worse, it kinda is.

Bio Broly is the shit...no bladder necessary. I don't see why a LA movie should be on the boxset.

Toei had nothing to do with it though. Toei's DB/Z movies are associated with their Dragon Ball franchise. It would be pointless, as well as costly, to include the live action movie.

LETS END ALL TALK ABOUT THE MOVIE.

Well, he did say at the panel, "We didn't change a damn thing." That's a big statement to live up to and I hope that means we get the menus, too.

By that logic, FanFiction.net should have a special edition remastered DVD like the Chinese Dragonball movie does... which is weird that such a thing could ever be released and sold to us on Amazon officially if it's some sort of bootleg ripoff...

Well, taken in a literal context would mean no subs, and we know otherwise so some changes have to be made. Whether that comes down to just the subtitles, or other assorted things such as the menus remains to be seen.

Well, Toei not actually having a hand in the rights to DBE is a legitimate reason not to include it (contrary to popular belief, "it sucks" is not a legitimate reason). I still would like the 2008 special to sneak its way in there, though.

Funi's gonna have to make SOME necessary changes. I mean, hell, they took Frieza off the boxart and divided it into five sets. Taking the rep's statement literally, they already made changes.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Oh, you know they will get it after this news. :)

But it is just a matter of when...

I wasn't being literal. I assumed that you would know what I meant. Of course there'll be subs and a dub track. Of course the book is going to be in English and the menus will have English text and a language menu option added on. But these are the minimal changes necessary to make them easily enjoyable by an audience that, for the most part, speaks almost zero Japanese.

So, not being completely literal just for the sake of making me look wrong, I'm hoping that "We didn't change a damn thing" means that we get the Japanese menus, too, even if they are translated so people besides Julian, myself, and a few others can navigate them.
