This was just "lolz I'm vegeta 9000 omg definitive!" How is that the "hardcore" audience you're selling this to...?
I kinda took it as them making fun of themselves or whatever like they were trying to get in on our own jokes about them. I figure that something a bit more down-to-earth and not, "Oh, God! There are nerds everywhere!" will surface when the official trailer shows up online.

Clip. NOW.

Anyway, back on the subject of future Blu-ray releases, I don't think anyone answered my previous question: what were the negatives scanned at for the DBox remastering process? Like I said before, if it was no higher than 480p, then there's no reason for anyone to buy potential DBox Blu-rays.
To a strong man, the end justifies the means. To a stronger man, the means justify the end.

I'm pretty sure they were scanned at 480p...99.9% sure.

The movies however...could be a different story.

Now you've got my undivided attention and curiosity. You simply just don't bring up something like that and not also include an audio sample of some kind (unless you really just don't have one handy at all).

So yeah, clip or GTFO. :P

But I can't, that's how life is. Time is a bitch. The party is over. Kageyama, Kikuchi, and Maeda are off the sauce now; Yanami almost OD'd; Yamamoto got arrested; Toriyama's not going to light trash cans on fire and hang from the chandelier anymore. We can't get the band back together, and even if we could, everyone's either old, in poor health, or calmed way the fuck down. Best we're going to get, and are getting, is a party that's almost entirely devoid of the magic that made the original one so awesome that we even want more.

I thought the vegeta DBOX trailer was pretty lame, and didn't really say what we were getting or why the Dragonbox master is all that great, and didn't even mention the release was in 4:3. I have a sneaking suspicion that particular trailer was really only for that particular con, and a actual trailer, if they do make one, is on the way.

It wasn't really a trailer, it was more like a "Hey, yeah we've got the Dragon Box" kinda thing.

I reckon they'll release the full trailer in a few weeks.

(Finally caught up!)

2 days after the announcement, and I'm finally 100% excited for this release. I no longer see the orange bricks as a waste of my money, since it fulfilled its' original purpose: I got to see all of DBZ in Japanese. A dream I'd had since the late 90's.

I can only imagine how the day of this release will go down (and the subsequent arrival on my doorstep). Every action in slow-mo, tearing through the Amazon box, carefully unwrapping the plastic, making room on my DVD shelf, and finally placing the first disc in my PS3 to begin what is sure to be 2-3 days of marathoning. Life is good.

Add me for some HD Remix or SF4.

I WANT TO KEEL YOO KAKARO'O!!!

Or maybe he's saying "I won't forgive you, Kakarotto?"

It sounded to like he said "Katarotto" at one point too.

I actually think this video was a good move on Funimations part. We didn't need some big fancy announcement. It's not like any of us are going to say, "Over 9000? To hell with that! No Dragon Box for me!" C'mon, it's the Dragon Box. We want it no matter what Vegeta screams at us. Funi probably made a few 12 year olds very happy, though. Younger fans may actually see this and decide they want to ask Santa for the DBox this Christmas.

I'm looking for the Vegeta clip, but it's a difficult bit to hunt down. I can still remember, it, though-- he was all like, "I'm coming to earth, YOUR planet!!"

HOWEVER, we do have other things of interest for the Kunzait.

Wait, wasn't there a "Recap" section about Dragonball in The Dragon Book for DBOXZ V1..? Wonder if they will include that.

I won't forgive you Gohan?
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
ADV Films had Mari Iijima playing Lynn Minmei in English, it'd be fucking SWEET to have Ryo Horikawa play him in a re-dub. I don't care if it sounds bad...

Ryusei Nakao's maniacal Freeza laugh was the highlight in the clip, in my opinion.

Imagine Horikawa promoting the Dragon Boxes with...Captain Falcon's voice.
