Extras on Dragon Box

Post by DragonBalllKaiHD » Mon Jul 20, 2009 11:42 pm

What extras or present do you desire the most on first ever American release of Dragon Box?

I would much rather have the Japanese extras.

I would like a figure. The Dragonbox figures, mostly.

The two tv specials and play-dia vid, dubbed and subbed, toonami promos, creditless ops and eds, interviews with voice actors, and for the english track, I want the op to be Kageyama's Engrish version of Head-Cha-La.

That should be a nice start, though I'm sure there's more I could think of.

I'm just happy to get the boxes, but those things would be appreciated.

If they DO dub the Play-dia footage, I'll actually watch it, because it'll be done by MODERN FUNi.

FUNimation is a much different company now than they were when they were doing DBZ the first time around, just look at One Piece...

The feature making fun of the American editing. That would be incredibly epic to experience, coming from Funimation themselves.

Umm, all of the stuff that came in the originals, with the addition of some more promos/commercials, TV special numero très, some interviews and hopefully retrospective look-backs on the series.

I'm a total commentary whore. I'd love some commentaries on major Episodes. Like a Goku/Vegeta fight Episode from Schemmel and Sabat and Trunks first Episode by Eric Vale.

If all we get is that book, I'll be happy. :D

I don't think it would be epic. I mean they know they cencored it, it's not a secret. But yea, I know what you mean and yes, it would be kinda cool.

I highly doubt that the footage for the third TV special even exists. I wouldn't really care for it much, anyway.

What would be the point of this?

"Yeah this fight is totally sweet. Wait for this punch coming up... Right here.... wait... wai- THERE IT IS. That was awesome. I love this episode."

The English voice cast have absolutely no insight into the creation of the original series. Their job was simply to voice over someone else's work. The commentary would provide absolutely nothing of relevance other than whether or not they had a sore throat that day, or how totally awesome that last attack was.

Now, if they had someone who was involved in the original production who could actually tell us something of value, then yeah, having commentaries would be amazing.

Entertainment value?

I mean, in the One Piece commentaries they end up meandering onto, like, the actor's first concert or something. But it's entertaining so I personally enjoy it.

...I doubt they'll add them to the Dragonbox, though, while it would be cool. Personally I want EVERYTHING they had in Japan, refit to the American audience when needed and such... like, replace the old Japanese ads with American ones if they can't get the rights or something.

I thought it was entertaining if anything. I mean, you can't really expect much information from the guys who're just dubbing the thing. I find the goofing off commentary the most fun to listen to, personally.

It was on the Dragon Ball DBox. It made fun of the Ocean Dub and 2001 dub edits. Here's a link for more info:

Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Toei says they have the footage in their archives (which is one of the main reasons I, and many others, do so "care for it"), so there's really no reason for it to have been left out of the original Dragon Box.

No extras are needed.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

Truth.
I enjoyed the commentary for what it was... it was very silly
