When I saw the trailer the sky in the Goku and Vegeta fight didn't look as green as it did on the Dragon Box screenhots. So is it because it's Youtube quality or did Funimation just use a placement for the trailer only?

I'm planning to get the set after I hear what others have to say about it in November.
The sky doesn't get green until Vegeta becomes a Great Ape.

Oh, thanks for answering my question jjgp. I'm just afraid FUNI might mess this up like they have always done in the past, but I'm feeling a bit more relaxed after hearing from others on the Dragon Box.

I'd like to see Kuririn on the next set, just cause he's my favorite character, and FUNI needs to show some love for Goku's best friend.

He means that it's a different art style.
Indeed. If they want this to be a coherent-looking release, they need to stick to art used on the R2 Dragon Boxes, and perhaps the kanzenban.
SSJ Goku from the Kanzenban Vol. 16 cover would be perfect for the Frieza saga box.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

I've no doubt SSJ Goku will make it onto one of the sets, but they're likely going to use the image from Dragon Box 2.

You mean Vol. 22? He isn't Super Saiyan on 16.

But still, Goku in the "IT'S OVER, FRIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEZAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!" pose would look pretty damn awesome on a Dragon Box.

Whoops. For some reason, I had DBW's post from like, page 12 in my head when I typed it.

Dragon Box 3 - SSJ Goku (from R2 Dragon Box 2)
Dragon Box 4 - Cell (from R2 Dragon Box 2)

The images would match up rather well to the content on each set, and would also be using all four characters present on the front covers of each R2 Dragon Box. For the last three though I have no clue, maybe kanzenban art?

EDIT: There's also the images of Piccolo and Vegeta on R2 Dragon Box 2 I didn't take into consideration, they could also use those for later sets.
I was thinking more Goku - Freeza - Cell - Buu
but I have never seen any of the Japanese Dragon Boxes

Well here's how I went about it:

This Dragon Box goes up to Episode 42, which is right in the middle of that lovely fake Namek filler plot and Vegeta's departure from Freeza No. 79. Say there were 42 episodes on the next Dragon Box set (give or take of course, it won't always be 42 since that number can't go into 291...anyway though...), that would mean it would stop on the episode where Freeza has just reached his final form and kills Dende, which is 84. That covers the early part of the Freeza arc with all the pursuing and stealth around Namek and stops about midway through the fight with Freeza - the art of Freeza on R2 Dragon Box 1 makes sense.

Another 42 after that stops at 126, which is when the city is attacked by the Artificial Humans. This covers all of Goku's fight with Freeza including the Super Saiya-jin transformation, Garlic Jr., Freeza going to Earth, and Trunks. Since the pinnacle of that is the Super Saiya-jin transformation, and the art of SSJ Goku's on the second Dragon Box, it makes the most sense to appear on this volume.

Finally, 42 after that brings us to 168, which is just starting off the time period between Cell's announcement of his tournament and the Cell Games themselves. This would include the appearance of 19 and 20, then later 16, 17, 18, and finally Cell ending off at just after the time he becomes Perfect. Cell in his 1st form just happens to grace the same set (Dragon Box 2), and with him being such a huge character in this section he fits the cover of this one, which would be our Dragon Box 4.

So that's how I figured was the best way to use the four pieces of character art present on the front covers of both R2 Dragon Boxes.

After looking over and comparing screenshots of Dragon Box and the trailer FUNI gave us, the English Dragon Box looks amazing! What really has me excited is when the set comes out, there will be a comparison discussion over this and the Dragon Box, I always love to see those. xD

How about Kai vs Eng Dragon Box in term of picture quality? XD

Off topic: I have put Kai Boxset in cart. CDJapan is wayyyy too expensive so I used Amazon Japan.

If you're not joking, I say go for it. Nothing says fan like owning every bit of official manga and anime (episodes, specials, movies, etc) of the series.

I guess for me it's just too tempting  . Just recently I couldn't resist and ended up buying the illustrations artbook from Viz. Just got here yesterday and am lovin' it :P. But I guess you're right I already own all the movies and this Dbox footage is just too good for me to pass up.

Question, Who actually drew the pictures on the Japanese DBoxes?
Was it Toriyama himself, or was it the animator At Toei who does a really good Job of Emulating Toriyama's Style?

With Toriyama's Style changing so radically over the Years, it's somewhat hard for me to tell...

I wana know because if it WAS Toriyama, then using the Kanzenban images works perfectly.

If not, then maybe they should use the DBox single art
