WIP - Mr Piccolo is Grumpy FEEDBACK PLZ!

Hey all!
This is still a work in progress but I figure it better to ask ya'll for advice.

I want to offer this as a print at the upcoming convention I am attending.
It could be because I am EXTREMELY tired at the moment but I am, again, hitting my head against the wall about what I can do to make this image feel simple and complete.

Right now I'm still trying to figure out what to do with the text... the general circular shape is one I want to keep... however I'm not entirely sure about color, effects/textures and interactions with any type of background.

Well... when you made the text all... rounded, it kind of distorted the actual text. If you have Illustrator, you can use that to make the text in a more circular fashion and lose that distortion (You can find a tutorial online). If you don't have Illustrator, Inkscape is a free alternative, but I'm not sure if you can do that in Inkscape... If not... then I guess it's okay.

I do suggest changing the font, possibly making it a lighter green for the text, and perhaps a few layer styles wouldn't hurt...

I been doing this stuff for awhile (see: art gallery in sig)... dunno why I'm so hung up on this!

Thinking of tracking down "haettenschweiler" in my font list and using that one

definitely keep it green, to keep with the Piccolo theme.

As for layer styles, it's best to just play around with the layer styles and see what looks best in your mind

Hey now, I'm no stranger to Photoshop, its options and messing around...
I'm just having a hard time trying to synchronize all for this image X_X

Maybe a Dark-colored outer glow and/or drop shadow to separate the text from the image a bit? Possibly an Inner Glow? Maybe a low-opacity stroke?

I still kinda feel this seems a 'lil "beginner" level.
But maybe just the same... it is supposed to be simple :-/

I like the first one more. The text fits better the with the humour and simple nature of the design. And the faded, enlarged symbol in the background sticks out more than it did before, which draws your attention to it rather than to Piccolo.

I dunno... Maybe the Darker Stroke is a bit too big.
