I thought the dub fit that scene much better. My top 5 favorite moments in the anime were all helped by the dub score: Gohan owning the Cell Jr.s, Gohan killing Cell (that's my favorite episode), Vegeta's Final Flash, the SSJ3 Goku transformation, and Gohan going SSJ2 (the episode 185 version).
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

I like the Original music but I've always said that sometimes they'll have a scene and pick the oddest song to go along with it. So I'll be watching it and sometimes think "Really? Out of all the tracks they could have used they went with THAT one?" I can understand why you personally feel that music went well with that scene but it just felt "tame" to me. Not epic enough for me.

Pretty much agree with this.

I completely respect your opinion, and I respect you. I enjoyed discussing this with you, even if I don't completely agree.

Goddamn, you people. This kind of shit is why I'm ashamed to call myself a Dragonball fan sometimes.

Subbies. Dubbies. It doesn't matter. You're mostly all the same intolerant assholes I was hoping to avoid here.

Should it really fucking matter which audio track some people like? Hell, some people, such as myself, happen to enjoy both just fine!

But no. It has to become a petty little argument every goddamn time. "Nozawa makes Goku sound like a faggoty little bitch!" "Chris Sabat should burn in hell for ruining the entire legacy of Dragonball!"

I am fucking BEGGING you people to just get along and accept other peoples' likes and dislikes.

Ah, so there will be no Falconer music score..

This kind of tempts me not too sell of my orange bricks just for memories sake, but I'm sure money will make me forget all about that.

I'm kind of happy about this, just because this provides a little more feedback that the quality of the DVDs will be the best they possibly can be.

Cell powering up to his full power is the best example of this. Really?! The fucking Spirit Bomb theme from Movie 7?! One of the most peaceful themes in the series?! The dub music they used fit much better and set the tone for the scene.

You're overreacting, there's no sub vs. dub argument going on.

Jesus, this topic better not be closed, too...

As for me, I don't care what music is in the set. All I want is the English voices, with an option for the Japanese voices, episode previews, and for it to be in 4:3. If all that is in this set, I'll be happy. (As for Bruce Faulconer's music, I can just turn to the Funimation single releases of DBZ)
Next quest: Buy the Super: Broly and Super Hero Blurays, also Daima whenever that releases in the states. Also the Super Manga!

Fan of Dragon Ball Z and various other Anime since '98! ^^

I don't see a problem with this. I love the Japanese score anyway, but there are a few scenes in Faulconer's score that really destroy the Japanese music...so what I'll do is, mux the audio from my orange bricks to the Dragon Box footage, create a loss-less encode and voila! :D

Y'know, just about every active thread besides this one isn't having this argument. Don't base your entire outlook of this forum on the few members who are carrying the argument through this thread.

To be fair, I've seen overreactions on both sides. jjgp1112 is certainly overreacting, but it's no help when other people antagonize him and other dub fans by belittling their opinions on the matter with remarks like "don't be such a baby" and "this release keeps getting better and better". Celebrating about what we're getting is one thing, but doing it in way that makes other people feel worse about what they aren't getting is pushing it.

It's fucking basic as hell.

Other way around, the set starts up in Japanese with Subtitles.

Do you really think so?? To us, Japanese, all characters talk faster in English dubs because of the stupid additional lines.
Best to ignore him, friend. Some are just the overreacting type.
Err... I think he (obiwan23s) was being sarcastic... I mean, read the rest of his post:
I'd prefer the worse-than-1991 Sega midi Falconer track and great voiceover work like Android "My balls are in a vicegrip" #19.
Eh... Yeah.

And, as far as this apparent loss of the old dub track... Those orange bricks aren't going anywhere, guys. Just because a new release excludes it doesn't mean that it ceases to exist. I understand that it's inconvenient to pop in those old DVDs, and a little disheartening that you have to deal with the cropping and such, but... It's still widely available.

And, like you said, jjgp112, the later season sets have pretty good video quality. It isn't like the last remnants of Faulkner's score are on Freeza saga VHS tapes.

Really, my reaction would have stayed as my comment about the Buu saga being boring and my top 5 scenes, but then the stuff that Li'l Lemmy was mentioning in his post is what made me say the other stuff.

I mean, Rory pretty much fucking provoked me to post my response to the news.

That's one and another one that always got me was the Super Saiyan transformation scene. This was a huge moment and all they used for it was some recycled stuff from Dead Zone! You would think they would have made a insert song for it or something...

I'm just pissed because I won't have amazing DBox footage with Faulkner's score during the Boo arc.
Gohan: At least he doesn't have his sword out anymore.
Kuririn: Yeah, and your dad put his finger away too.

Stop being so damn defensive. I didn't understand what you meant so I said something in order to get some clarification. Despite my having the exact opposite opinion as you, I generally never have a problem with you I've been pretty nice to you throughout this disagreement. So, don't turn around and start jabbing at me just because some other prick keeps kicking sand in your face.
