Yup we realized that back on page 84. Maybe they're gonna release Legends soon! Who knows, anything is possible now that we have the DragonBoxes! (Ok, maybe we aren't getting Legends).

The images are not found anywhere in the JP-version of the DBOX?

FUNi decided, instead, to take them from the relatively obscure Saturn version of Legends? I don't buy that. It has to be coincidence. Those images have to be from somewhere else.

Oh man don't get me excited for an Xbox Live port of Legends.

That would just make 2009 the best year for Dragon Ball in America by far.

No, too easy. :P Still, it's amazing how much we've managed to speak about this release, just goes to show how awesome it is!

Yes, especially considering that we know practically nothing new beyond what was revealed in the initial announcement a week ago.

On the topic of the positioning of the next episode previews, I do remember from the airings on the International Channel that the preview came before the credits. I recall the Spanish dub behaving similarly on Telemundo.

In fact, while I have very little basis for saying this outside of a flash of memory from watching a lot of 80s anime, they all had their previews before the credits. It really wasn't until the 90s or so when it became commonplace for all anime to have their previews after the credits. Toei probably put the preview after the credits on the DVD releases because what's what most Japanese are used to now. Then again, Toei did leave out the episode 1 preview for DBZ, and put the episode 1 preview for DBGT on the wrong set, so it may have been in error. Who knows? Maybe FUNi's sets will have these "issues" fixed. Probably not, though. Since they "didn't change a damn thing".

Personally, I don't care where the preview is, as long as it's there, and it's after the episode. It wouldn't be a problem like the ADV Sailor Moon discs were. Where the "episode preview" aired after the opening credits, instead of before, resulting in just plain awkwardness. Of course, in typical Toei style, they didn't provide ADV with next episode previews or all of the opening animations, either, a la Toei with Dragon Ball Z and FUNimation.

Toei once put previews before the credits on Hokuto no Ken DVD Box release in 2003 like DB's, but they corrected it on HD-remastered Box released last year. So I think it's an error.

There is a blog that shows an interesting speculation about the change of positioning of previews in Japanese animes.

Not yet, but they did it on Hokuto no Ken so I'm expecting it. :)

I wouldn't hold my breath. That is what Kai is for. Either way, I wouldn't buy a Blu-Ray DBox. Total waste of money.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

You know, I wonder.
Will the Dragon Books use the Japanese or English names for the characters when you read them?

Like, when you look up The characters in the Books, will it be "Son Goku" or just "Goku", no family name?
Will it be "Tenshinhan" or "T1en Shinhan"? Will it be "Mr. Satan" or "Her-cule"? "King Kai" or "Kaio"? "Superme Kai" or "Kaioshin"?

Probably whatever they did in their season set booklets. I can't quite remember what they did there, but I know they did use some Daizenshuu info, such as Tenshinhan being "a decendant of the Three-Eyed-Race".

When they get to Mr. Satan, they can just call him "Mark" and I'll be happy.

Well, Hercule was only for the edited dub, so we will be seeing Mr. Satan at least for sure.

So, right in the middle of the end credits is good for you?

At this point, it doesn't really seem like there is anything at all to add the conversation.

I'm going to politely ask everyone that unless they have something significant to add or there is genuinely news about it, please refrain from posting. Random back-and-forths, poor attempts at humor, all that good stuff... really not welcome here.

Thanks!

Oh sweet, thanks.

Those disc covers looks great, I hope FUNimation will use them in this release as well. These are much better than the remastered seasons disc covers in my opinion.
