First Anime Appearance of Nappa/Vegeta

Contrary to popular belief, Nappa & Vegeta do not appear for the first time in DBZ episode 005...! In scrubbing through episode 002 (for something completely different), I came across this frame. It pans by pretty quickly, so when you're watching it regularly you really don't give it much of a second glance.

But when you look close, you really see what's there

Ah yeah. =D Remember that one. Funny that in the anime Vegeta went through three haircolours... the little rebel. XD

Nope, I have the first two videos (the Raditz battle and Gohan's mostly filler survival training) and you can see that.

Good eye...
However, that scene is actually shown in the preview for episode 2 as well, which means that technically you first see Vegeta and Nappa in episode 1!

The shot in the preview has some red tinting added around the corners as well...

The shot of Vegeta, Nappa and Raditz is also followed immediated by that shot of the Saiya-jin with different coloured hair. Brown, purple, blond, yellow... TOEI really screwed up the continuity of the Saiya-jin with these scenes...

Yeah, the whole thing's a series of flashback shots from various points in time. I think that's actually supposed to be Goku in the left pod. Maybe that's his Mom with the blond hair, and this whole "Super Saiya-jin" thing is just hereditary!

That's what I thought too!

That one shot sure is screwy. Look at how happy all the Saiya-jin are, they're even thowing a little good-bye party for their friends! We certainly get a different image of the Saiya-jin in the Bardock special...

Yeah they're all drunk n shit in the Bardock special. There is a possibility that the blond woman is Goku's mother.

Why did we all over look that guy in the third pod.

You NEVER noticed this before, Daizex crew? REALLY?

And the blonde isn't Goku's mom. It's the origin of the "OMGGF LAUNCHE IS A SUPASAYJIN11111~~~" rumor.

Seriously though, why are you all convinced she's his mom? It's just as feasible one of the other two women in that shot are his mother, or that not a single one of them are.

Finally: WTF IS WITH THE SIZE OF THAT "SSJ"?! Is he USSJ2 or something?! Christ, could you imagine him in Oozaru form?

I know, I was just joking around. And I actually remember people posting that image and making those stupid "Lunch is a Saiyan" theories way back on the Planet Namek boards...
