Only Season 2 is really that bad. 3, 4, and 5 are decent, and then 6 is when it gets good.
You'd rather have an inconsistant product created without the creator's input rather than the consistant product created with the help of the creator?

There's nothing wrong with that if you can't afford the latter.

Or if you're willing to make those concessions for a far cheaper product. I mean, look at used Season Set prices on eBay and Amazon. They've PLUMMETED. If you want to own the whole series legally and on the cheap, the season sets are an option simply for the cost effectiveness of it all.

Find the post where I said this.

Oh wait, you can't :|

Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!

If you are looking for an unnatural sort of clear, the season sets win.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

Metalwario64, it's the first 100-ish episodes that I'm worried about the most. Also, consistency in quality is important to me, too. While the Season Sets may have a huge jump in quality after awhile, I think we all would've rather had good quality the whole way though like the Dragon Boxes do. This is why I skipped on the Season Sets.

I think it should be more of a "Play Season Set version of this clip, then play Dragon Box version."

YouTube videos are already low-res, so watching the same clip twice is the only way to see both films for what they are as opposed to side-by-side.

No I'm going to be doing a rant but yeah if I add a comparison in there it'll definitely be that way. Sorry for double post but can't edit quoted in iPod touch no computer.

Anyways should I delete the video or not?

Well, if you are going to make a more informative video with better comparisons, then by all means if you want to then it wouldn't hurt.

We wouldn't want the aforementioned video causing unnecessary confusion as to which footage is better... although it may not matter in the end anyway...

I don't know if this constitutes as a necropost or not--hopefully not--but would you mind reuploading that video and maybe disabling the comments? Yours was the ONLY decent comparison video I could find on Youtube and I have friends who are wondering what the big difference is between the Dragon Box and Funi's remaster. I figured a video would be the best way. I'm really disappointed to see it gone, as there isn't a single other Dragon Box comparison I can find. I can only find this and it's dreadful.

You haven't devoted yourself long enough to continuous analysis of Dragon Box vs. Orange Brick comparison stills.

You will learn; give it time.
Well, it's been three years and they still don't look blurry.

Now i know that every body is entitled to their own opinions but like 95% are saying they prefer the FUNimation sets. Why?
Whelp, that's why FUNimation was in no hurry to make more DBZ Dragon Boxes, and any other kind of Dragon Boxes until their most recent Dragon Ball project crashed and burned. Sadly, the majority of the American public are content with the season sets.

And it had been answered before. Most of those comments most likely come from people who own the season sets, and who could care less about this "Japanese" release of DBZ.

At the end of the day, I think the enjoyment the people that own the orange sets get from watching them is equal to the enjoyment people get from the DBOXES. I refuse to buy the orange sets, but I bought the movie packs because I don't care as much about them as I care about the original series.

Then I asked myself while watching Broly's first movie yesterday, if DBOX the movies comes out in the States, am I really going to enjoy watching that more than this one? I think that enjoyment would be only from knowing I have the superior product, my actual time watching it, I'm not sure if I would enjoy it more at all. You still get the story and can discern what's going from Funi's remastering.

I really believe most people that own their orange sets enjoy their product and get the same enjoyment. Obviously it is the inferior product though.

One more thing, the grain the dragon boxes seems very unnatural to me. I popped in a DB blue brick disc and I thought it looked great. Really the cropping is what REALLY bothers me with these bricks. Irks me to no end. But again, the enjoyment after calming down and just watching the episdoes, is probably identical.

^ I agree that the people who own the orange bricks get the same enjoyment out of them as we Dragon Box owners do, even if they are an inferior product. Ignorance ( or lack of giving a shit ) is bliss indeed...

I've never actually watched the blue bricks, so I don't know how much the cropping would actually bother me, but from the screen shots I've seen, I would automatically notice the cropping if I were to purchase and watch them. Go look at the Dragon Ball Dragon Box screen shots on Kanzentai, they look beautiful. That's what I'm gonna wait for.

Of course, like you said, If all we get are the movies in Dragon Box form, I'd be happy with the blue bricks.

I think the DBOXES look good in all aspects except for the grain. Yesterday I saw my first episode of a dragon box, and not lying I thought the grain was a bit too much, seems as it if was artificial and overdone even if it's not. I mean I remember watching it in SDTVs when I saw the whole series in the latin spanish broadcast and I don't remember that much grain. I'm guessing this is new to the DBOXES? Of course I'm not returning the DBOXES and getting season sets any time soon just because of that. :)
