Fat Buu vs Kid Buu: Who Stronger?
Well, maybe he could have, so long as he wasn't underestimating his regenerative abilities (which he hadn't seen at the time). But he was also talking about SSJ3 while dead, Kid Buu was his first time doing it while alive, and the difference surprised him.JulieYBM wrote:I really don't see any reason for that line to have been added if Son couldn't beat Fat Boo.
I'm thinking strictly from a "Why would Toriyama add that" POV. How unlikely is it that it was added because Toriyama was trying to tell the readers "Yeah, he could've won. Look how strong that makes him!!"Bussani wrote:Well, maybe he could have, so long as he wasn't underestimating his regenerative abilities (which he hadn't seen at the time). You're both right, but I'm not sure this is one of those clear cut 'Toriyama said this so readers know' moments. Even if logically Goku could 'beat' Buu, could he have utterly wiped him out? He didn't have all the facts. I dunno. SSJ3 Goku might have been able to beat a normal opponent of Fat Buu's strength, but Buus aren't normal.

That is what was said in the dub, but in the Japanese version he said he dragged it out to look cool.jjgp1112 wrote:Actually, Goku only did bad against Kid Buu because he was drawing the fight out so Vegeta can get his turn. Since this fits into this thread what do you think if Buu absorbed Gohan while SSJ3 Gotenks was still functionally? Would he be stronger than Vegetto?
Still, your point stands. Goku dragged out the fight and because of that he became fatigued.

I don't see this mentioned in the Viz manga. Goku says that he's been fighting seriously from the start and wasn't holding back -- Buu kept coming at him and wasn't giving him time to gather ki. He says "Maybe I tried to act too cool" when wondering if they should have used the Potara after all.Metalwario64 wrote:That is what was said in the dub, but in the Japanese version he said he dragged it out to look cool.jjgp1112 wrote:Actually, Goku only did bad against Kid Buu because he was drawing the fight out so Vegeta can get his turn. Vegeta was surprised, having thought that Goku was holding back for his sake.

I'm going off of Simmons' subtitles... Maybe I am misremembering the line? I need to re-watch that scene...Bussani wrote:I don't see this mentioned in the Viz manga. Maybe the anime changed that scene?

Here's my list:
1. Super Buu
2. Ancient Kid Buu*
3. Ultra Buu
4. Fat Buu**
4. Evil Thin Buu
4. Evil Kid Buu*
7. Good Fat Buu
* Ancient Kid Buu is not the same as the new one. Since Fat Buu split, the new Kid Buu is actually the evil half of Ancient Kid Buu. It has to make some difference, because Good Fat Buu can't exist from nothing.
** Fat Buu is either above or below the Evil Buus.
Their power is built up from these parts:
A. Buu's evil power
B. Buu's neutral base power (there has to be some power left after Evil Thin Buu emerges, or the hypothetical Good Kid Buu (the one that makes up Good Fat Buu) has no power at all.*
C. Kaioshin's power**
* This power is distributed evenly among the two Buus after the split.
** The Kaioshin's power is subtracted from Buu's evil power; it is added to Buu's neutral base power. Super Buu circumvents this by absorbing the good Buu, thereby indirectly absorbing the Kaioshin. This prevents their power from being subtracted from his evil power (because it is 'channeled' through the good Buu). This is the main reason he's the strongest.

My list from strongest to weakest goes;
Super Buu with Gohan absorbed
Super Buu with Gotenks absorbed
Mega Buu
Super Buu with Piccolo absorbed
Super Buu
Majin Buu
Evil Buu
Kid Buu
Mr. Buu
Uub
I put Evil Buu above Kid Buu mainly because Mr. Buu put up a better fight against Kid Buu. Sure it was still a losing battle, but in both anime and manga, Mr. Buu couldn't touch Evil Buu, while he actually landed a few hits on Kid Buu, not counting the cheap shot to the back.
I put Uub on the bottom because when he was first introduced, there's no way you'll convince me he was at Mr. Buu's level. He was untrained and shown only to be able to match Goku's base. I'd still mark him as weaker than Mr. Buu in GT sicne he's still only at Goku's base, but once him and Mr. Buu fuse, I'm not sure where to place him. Some say he reached his full potential and thus would be at Kid Buu's level. But Piccolo, having trained and become so strong before becoming one with Kami again, re-emerged more powerful than when he originally split, which is why I generally lean toward Ubuu being somewhere between Evil & Super Buu's powers if not Super Buu's.
