Dragonball Banpresto Figures In America?! YES!

Post by Oldphan » Fri Jul 31, 2009 2:57 am

Hey there guys! Sorry I haven't been posting as much, been having a hard time keeping up with everything lately. Hope everyone here has been well, missing you guys a lot ; ).

I looked to see if there was a thread about this already but didn't notice one... There was recently some talk about Banpresto, (Who arguably makes some of the most beautiful Dragonball toys ever.) beginning to distribute their figures into the United States, in UFO catcher type games in movie theaters and malls... And I went to see one of them today! While I was there I won three figures, and made this little video showing off the machine:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-Ed65_pVxc

funny to think of this thing showing up in the same place I saw DBE a few months earlier, LOL....

And if these figures look good to you, check here to find one of these machines in your town and win them for all yourself!:

Lets hope more figures like this will be released in the USA, it's a fabulous idea, and will surly usher in a new era of quality to the Dragonball Toy world in the states.... Banpresto's figures are LEGIONS beyond the stuff that Bandai America have been throwing us lately, 'charming' as those figures are...

All the best,
Oldphan

What are the chances that, given these crane games rake in a lot of cash, that they release these figures at standard retail?

I don't want to keep going down to a theater to play a crane game only to not get the figure I want... I'd rather pay some cash up front for them.

Wow that game looks a lot easier than the description on the site said it would be.

The figures are slightly smaller than I thought they would be.

One HUGE question though. The 'drop' buttom....can you lightly tap it and work your way down or one push and it drops ALL the way to the bottom.

If i can slowly work my way dow, I've got a roll fo quarters ready to go, since there is one about 2 miles from me. [according to the 'search' site]

Saw the video and searched if there was some of those machines near me and it turns out there's quite a few. One is really close and a few are bit further out but not too far.

:) I've got some figures to try and collect.
I'll come up with something clever. Just not now.
