Needs moar Stephany Nadolny!
Adult Goku with Gohan's voice = DO NOT WANT as well.

Giving a character the same voice as they did as a kid may be good in the Japanese version, but seeing adult Goku in a US dub with a freaking kid's voice would be laughable.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Oh I thought you meant the dub. Either case, those characters were also never next to each other at any point in the series, so it was never an issue.

I don't really care. It's works fine with Naruto and Luffy (the latter an emotionally mature individual as opposed to the former), it'll work fine for Gokû.

Hehe, I should've been a bit more clear. Although with Kai coming up, I wonder if Midorikawa will return for #16, sense he is currently doing Ten.

Also that choice wasn't my own, someone else said I'd make a good Yamcha :B
Wait, Inman had a Dragon Ball role? Huh, he's been with FUNi longer than I thought...

If FUNimation did an honest dub through Kai, I'd keep everyone the same exceeeeept:

Freeza: I want Troy Baker, since he used to work at FUNimation. Realistically it might not happen, but one can dream.
Cell: Kenny Green. Really good English Norio Wakamoto alternative.
Goten: Caitlin Glass, I guess? Edwards lost some talent in the video games, I can't play as Goten with the dub voices on. I mean, if she does what she did in the actual show, let her stay, but if not, axe her.

He's been there at least since late 2007, as he did Bleach(Jin Kariya) and Code Geass(Schneizel el Britannia).

And whaddya know, looking at Wikipedia on how to spell Schneizel's name right, Baker did some stuff for the Z movies.

I see what you did there...

I greatly agree with KaiserNeko's cast list...but if I could pick one thing over it would be adult Son Goku's VA and that would be MasakoX. Perfect right there.

Also, right on with the Quinton Flynn voice choices.

I think some direction changes, and a few voice changes could make a great dub, if they had an accurate script. That's what I meant. Some voices, I would like to keep (Cell, Goku, 17, Ginyu, etc), some I would like to change (Freeza, Recoome, etc). Maybe pull Chris Sabat back a tad, to allow more roles to sound differentiated, and tap more of their voice cast.

Whilst I do think Sabat has a great vocal range, if you listen to the commentary for the first uncut "One Piece" DVD, Mike McFarland reveals something very interesting about his role in the DBZ dub. The reason they gave Sabat so many roles was because FUNimation had, at the time, a very limited number of people to work with, so they had him do a lot of the roles.

So, it's not like FUNimation thought it would be an excellent idea to give Sabat so many roles. They clearly love him and believe in his talents as a voice actor, but the way McFarland said and delivered it, he made it sound like they would have hired more voice actors if FUNimation had the budget to do so at the time. They most certainly do now, though, lol.

It sucks that FUNimation did so many things in the name of "budget" when just mere months later it was basically printing money.

Very true, but I'm sympathetic. DBZ was cancelled at one point due to low ratings, so they had good reason to worry that the same thing would happen again.

Well, that just goes to show you that putting DBZ on at 4:30PM Monday-Friday is a lot better than putting it on at 6:30AM on a Sunday.

Agreed. You have the TV networks to thank for that. If only they had known that in a few years anime in the U.S. would be bigger than sliced bread.

Between my special order of Saint Seiya: Next Dimension vol. 1 from Japan, The Complete Sherlock Holmes, and "Seasons" 4 and 5 of Detective Conan, I had no birthday cash left for One Piece.

I like Chris Sabat's acting, don't get me wrong, and he has a massive range that any man would be jealous of, but I was just thinking that, if they had the chance now, they could ease him up a bit, and bring in some of their other very talented voice actors to fill in a few good roles. It would also bring more overall diversity to the series.

Seems a few guys want DBZ to follow the NaruBleachomon Cospiracy. Me, for most part wouldn't change, though would like Tim Curry as Frieza.

I'm way too tired to compile a full list, but I would love to see someone like David Kaye play the part of Freeza, something in the same vein as his Beast Wars Megatron voice, but perhaps not as deep.

And I'll throw in the obligatory "MasakoX for Goku!!11".

I wrote this list ages ago, I also trimmed off some of the crazier stuff.

Zoë Wanamaker as Son Goku, Son Gohan, Son Goten, Bardock, Vegetto, Gotenks, and Gogeta.

Yes, I want a mature lady to play all of Nozawa's roles, it makes sense, though she's definitely not had much experience playing boys, I think she could do a perfect Boy voice if she wanted. She's an American-British Actor most known for her roles in My Family, Harry Potter and Doctor Who.

Tiffany Grant as Bulma, Bra

Her most memorable role was as Asuka in Evangelion, and I can definitely hear her playing Bulma.

Colleen Clinkenbeard as Kuririn, Yajirobe

Mirroring her role as Monkey D. Luffy, also played by Mayumi Tanaka of course, she could definitely pull off these two

Billy West as Karin

Crispin Freeman as Piccolo
It would sound awesome...

Yuri Lowenthal as Yamucha

Tony Oliver as Tenshinhan

Johnny Yong Bosch as Vegeta

Spike Spencer as Trunks and Child Trunks

He could definitely pull both off...

Jessica Boone as Puehr and Chaozu

Puerh should sound cute, not irritating, and she could probably play Chaozu well too...

Celebrity/Guest Voices: THINGS GET WEIRD HERE!

Mark Hammil as Emperor Pilaf/Garlic Jr.

Tom Baker as Tao Pai Pai

Samuel L. Jackson as Adjutant Black

Christopher Ryan as Commander Red

Kelsey Grammar as Piccolo Daimao

David Hyde Pierce as Piano

Zachary Quinto as Raditz

Brian Blessed as Enma-daioh

John DiMaggio as Nappa

Frank Welker as the Saibai-men

Tim Curry as Freeza

Patrick Stewart as Cell

Frank Oz as Majin Buu

Bryan Cranston as Baby

Laurence Fishbourne as Yi Xing Long
