It was recorded in mono back when they made it. It has since been remastered into Stereo, but only a few clips of the episodes with remastered Stereo are on YouTube. Here's one of 'em.tvfan721 wrote:It was probably remastered for the Uncut DVD's. It just seems odd that the Mexican Dub is the only dub that has it's audio quality affected by YouTube.

Ha, funny you should ask that...I tried asking that myself on the YouTube comments and have yet to get an answer. Probably because I asked in Spanish and, how do you say it...el Espanol que Yo creo no es muy bueno.nathantheguitarist wrote:Where did the stereo audio for the SSJ transformation come from? The only Spanish Stereo stuff should be what Funimation released, right? Unless Mexico remastered it themselves, only for rebroadcasting. I guess.

I remember back in the late 90s and early 2000s I would watch Telemundo on EARLY Saturday mornings (Around 6 AM) just to watch DBZ with its original music. Something that always bothered me was the quality of the voices. Not the acting, mind you, but the honest-to-god quality of it. I dunno how the remastering sounds, but on TV it always had this irritating low quality that made everything sound like an echo like the voices weren't recorded with good microphones.

That's honestly like 80% of dubbed Spanish stuff. At the time, anyways.Levlik wrote:I remember back in the late 90s and early 2000s I would watch Telemundo on EARLY Saturday mornings (Around 6 AM) just to watch DBZ with its original music. The narrator was the worst.

Y'know that's so weird that this has all come up; back in the day I loved the quality of the sound recording a ton (I especially loved the reverberation that would occur sometimes when special attacks were being performed) but I've gone back and listened to some VHS's of the episodes I'd tape in Mexico and I gotta agree that it does sound like the quality of the recording of some of the voices is really quite oddly low in quality (which is a shame since I think that the Mexican cast's performances are, for the most part, of excellent, excellent quality!!). Now that I think of it, though, I remember noticing this lapse in recording quality in other Mexican-dubbed anime as a kid...
I don't wanna steer this thread off topic but does anyone know if FUNimation still has the rights to the Intertrack (Mexican) dub???

I don't know where they're selling them, either, but you can buy Spanish volumes off their website, I believe.theoriginalbilis wrote:I believe FUNi is still releasing the Mexican dub ala 3-episode DVDs. I don't remember where they retail though.

Hey DOOODGE and theoriginalbilis thanks a lot for the heads up! I've not been to FUNI's website in a long time; if this truly is the case then I'm stoked.

Well, there's the Ultimate Uncuts that have the Mexican dub, and those are in 4:3, and canceled. And then there's the Mexican only Ultimate Uncut-esque DVD's and those use the Orange Brick faux remastering in 16:9... stuff. That's what you meant by "domestic" release, right? Technically, they're both domestic, to the states anyways.BUFF Trunks wrote:No other online retailer sells the Mexican dvds?
And are the Mexican Saiyan/Vegeta Saga dvds different from the Domestic release?
And I thought those were canceled too. I can't remember where or when I read that, but that's what I think. Anyone care to inform us on those a little?

I think the Spanish-language DVD's are cancelled as well; when I looked for them the latest release dates I could find in their line were all 2007, if I'm not mistaken.
A real shame
