Microsoft GIF Animator is a pretty good, free and easy to use gif animator program.

It is limited to 256 colors, but it can import AVI as well, so that makes up for it (to me at least.)

Maybe I should have been more specific. The topic changed. Still, this is pretty useful because I already have some Gifs saved on my computer. Thanks :)

Convert the DVD into AVI with something along the lines of DVDx, and then run it through Microsoft GIF animator.

Does Microsoft GIF Animator resize the avatar too?

If it can, I don't know how.

You could probably resize the AVI with DVDx, and if that doesn't work then you could do it with AlltoAVI or if you run under windows, then Windows Movie Maker should be able to do it as well.

I thought you were going to make your own, not steal a bunch of random gifs from the internet...

The MS Gif animator does work fine. I use it. You'll just need something to crop and resize the video.

I know MS Gif Animator works well. But DVDx is the problem. The worst program ever, IMO. But I found the Gif resize "generator". Anyway, I still need a good free program that makes animated gif out of DVD.

Hmm...

Maybe you need to tweak your settings... videohelp.com should be able to help you out. I suggest going to their forums to help you out.

I don't know of any other "legally" free DVD-to-AVI programs out there... Look around videohelp.com, there might be another program out there that you could use...

If you need something to resize your video, check out Alltoavi.
