Maybe because his new seiyuu now thinks he runs the place and is ordering eveyone around at his whim. He's making his character appear on the new eyecatch, extending his stay on the show through sharp editing, forcing the animators and editors to re-do his fight scene with Vegeta, and slipping in footage of the Saibaman that Vegeta blew up as it was going "boom" right after Kui hits Vegeta with his attack (altering the course of the series).

Still no new opening, guess I'm too impatient, it would have revealed the new enemies too soon...

It was really cool in this episode how they managed to make the music continuous between the scene and the eyecatch. Smart and classy transition, they have good ideas! 8)

Just wondering, are looking looking for a new opening animation, or a new opening theme?

Probably both, as the modern, long-running popular shows change OP songs and videos every 13 or 14 episodes.

The new eyecatchers look nice. :3

I'm looking forward to a new OP/ED so much. A new song would be a bonus, but I want the new animation more.
On hiatus.

More like 30 episodes. It's the endings that often get changed every 14 episodes.

Well when we take our first few steps into the Freeza arc and get our initial glance at this larger galactic army, if I'm remembering the backstory correctly it's established that Kiwi acts as a sort of rival to Vegeta. His character doesn't stick around for that long so we really don't see much of that little subplot develop. The two were fairly equal in power, and Kiwi had a tendency to insult Vegeta quite often as we see when Vegeta returns bruised and injured from Earth.

It's understandable that after his fight on Earth Vegeta gained a huge power increase, but it's still disappointing that the culmination of their rivalry ended so quickly. Kiwi, like Raditz, is a character that I would've liked to see keep a fairly active presence in the story much longer than what they actually received.

...but the episode after he dies, no doubt the new second eyecatch will feature Vegeta with Dodoria and Zarbon, or maybe one at a time.

Granted I don't watch much new anime anymore. About 90% of it is crap, and about 1% of that 10% that isn't crap is what we get licensed over here. I mean, ever since I saw a series about Japanese schoolgirls in a rock band and one of them playing a Gibson Les Paul guitar (an instrument that even me, a college graduate with a career and salary can't afford), I gave up on anime. Plus the whole moe/loli fad which is just a facepalm for the entire human race. Anyhow, I'm babbling now, but either way Kai should be getting a new opening soon. Or hopefully a new ending. YBCB is atrocious.

Well, one usually goes with the other, I can hardly imagine new animation without new music to really have something new, so I guess they form a whole that I'm impatient to see.

But still, I guess it's new animation scenes I'm eager to see more than anything else, even if I'm also really curious about the new music there could be. I didn't expect the first opening to have such beautiful animation when I first watched Kai, so I can't wait to see what famous characters/scenes they will include as fully redrawn, modern-days-like versions.

Don't forget though that DB and Z until "We Gotta Power" kept the same opening theme all the way and simply updated the animation when required. GT did the same after Goku reached Super Saiyan 4 If memory serves me correct.
It's not out of the question for Kai to follow a similar pattern.
I hope not personally, I love seeing new animation for Dragonball.

Oh yeah, that's true. It didn't come to my mind cause I just consider it minor updates, not new animation (despite the fact that it is). But it's true that it's a possibility I hadn't thought about.

But even if not EVERYTHING was changed (cause some example can still be used for a long time I guess, like Goku in front of the dragon at the beginning, Goku training with Gohan...), I guess there would be quite some changes cause there'll be no point in showing all of the "Goku VS Vegeta" scenes, or to a lesser extent, baby Gohan, the Saibai-Men.
So even if they just update some scenes instead of re-doing everything, I think there's not much to worry about, there should be quite a lot of new animation in any case... but we'll see.

I can not tell you how hard I laughed when Mr. Popo showed up at the beginning of the episode. Thanks Team Four Star.
...Wait what are you doing? Are you still reading this? I finished what I had to say, why don't you move on to the next post?

*Is excited for Dende* I know. X3

If we have Haruhi we need some Kyon to go with. X3 Peanut butter and jelly they are. Maybe make his seiyuu one of the namekian villagers?

No matter, I still can't wait to hear new!Dende.

It's especially ironic when you consider that Dende eventually becomes Kami's replacement.

I just watched, I and I have to say Damn you TFS I can never look at Mr. Popo the same way again

I really liked the new music specially the Dragon Soul instrumental thing that played during the Jupiter scene

I thought it was weird that some of the flashbacks were brownish but others had that "fantasy window" thing

Ok good,I'm not alone. Bulma's reaction to his arrival did NOT help at all either. I was laughing so hard.

Same. I was expecting the close-up cuts to keep going.
