.....My goodness, this is Dragon Ball series we are talking about here. Since when do the rapping has blending so well with GT? Sure, GT is not a good sequel, but
it shouldn't make it worse by giving a rap song. This is why we have gotten
a proper intro. The rap song was good enough as its own for Cd single dedicated to DBGT, but for an official GT intro just made it worse.
And
this is your opinion.
I don't see why he can't prefer the GT rap/overall FUNi presentation without getting flak for it. There's nothing wrong with that at all. If he thinks that it is a proper intro, that's fine.

You're right in that he's absolutely allowed to like it, but there's also absolutely no reason why an opinion that's so minutely-held can't be questioned, if only on an intrigue-type of level.
I asked VS a question earlier, and it certainly applies to SP in exactly the same way.

I thought there were no right or wrong answers when it comes to opinions. That's why they are opinions.

A voice of reason? In this thread? It's more likely than I thought.

I love how people consider "the voice of reason" anybody who is on their side.

People actually LIKE step into the grand tour? O.O
Granted, I don't like GT to START with...but Dan Dan kicks the dub theme's ass.
Yes, I'm well aware thats an opinion, if it wasn't my opinion, I wouldn't be saying it. Using "well thats just your opinion" as an argument is highly immature. Duh, it's someones opinion but if thats all you have to say, you're just trying to invalidate the opinion by ignoring it, and that's childish.
Certainly people are allowed to have their own opinion on the song, but its such a terribly derivitive work I have a hard time believing you people ACTUALLY mean it. I mean, my roomates a dubbie, he LOVES the falconer and menza music, he likes rocking the dragon for christs sake. When I played Step into the Grand Tour he threatened me with violence if I didn't shut it off.
If you do actually like it, thats your choice, but you need to realize that for most people, this song is gutter trash.

Do you just spout meme's.. or contribute at all?
Um, to
re-rail this thread, I remembered another instance!
In "
Budokai Tenkaichi 2" (
Sparking! NEO), when given the option to change the audio to the original Japanese voice cast, Chi-Chi comments that:
"I dunno why you'd wanna do that though..."
Or something to that effect. Low blow FUNi, low blow..

What the fuck, mate? It's called "freedom of choice". Look it up. If someone likes Grand Tour, then by all means, they can like it. If someone likes Dan Dan, they can like that too.
The only opinions that should be hated on are the very drastically wrong ones. (Like, I dunno, the ones held by yaoi fangirls.)

you're in an extreme minority, but it's not right to criticise your opinion, but you find another extreme minority, but see them? We can totally disagree with them. Can we say hypocrite, class?
Moreover yeah you have freeodm of choice. And we have freedom of choice to call your choice BS.

Well, I don't think the issue is of right or wrong as much as it is, "Why do you like [such-and-such]?" Especially if it's an opinion held by a very small minority. For example, most Dragonball fans I meet like FUNi's Americanized version of DBZ and can't stand the Japanese audio. So, a lot of times, people are like, "Why do you like that stuff? The voices are so weird and the music is boring."
I think it's alright if I were to take a note from that book and ask, "Why do you like the Grand Tour rap? It's a total misrepresentation of what Dragonball is."

I already gave my answer to that. It's hilariously bad.

Yeah, but still. If that's the way they want to think, it's just better to ignore them and leave it at that. You can't really change people's opinions on something nowadays without having a good smoking gun.

I remember that. I think it was more of a thing where, it being the NA version of the game, they didn't expect many of the gamers to be able to understand the game once the changed to Japanese. Therefore, why would you want to do that?

Maybe because the English voices are too grating? Besides, the game already has english text, so why should that psycho bitch mom care?

Oh, it's not about changing someone's opinion. I've been back and forth through the Internet and in real life Dragonball fandom enough times to know that opinion-changing only happens when you're not trying to change someone's opinion. Case-in-point: my girlfriend. She watched the dub on CN back in the day. Then, when I got ahold of some DB & DBZ DVDs, I started watching them in Japanese with her without even thinking about it. She took to it on her own and now she can't stand the American version. However, anytime I was ever like, "No, the American version sucks. Watch this," to someone they always ended up being even more strongly attached to the American version.
Like I said, it's more about wondering why just for conversation's sake. It isn't about changing someone's opinion. They have just as much access to the Japanese version as I do. If they're gonna try out the Japanese version they usually have to want to in the first place.

In Short: Tell someone their opinion is wrong, and they'll believe it even more.

Not everyone has a problem with the English voice cast. In fact, most American fans don't even know the alternative.

For the MOST part I like the english dub CAST.
I hate the reversioning done in the script, I hate the music changes, and I hate the censoring in the DBZ dub.
I PREFFER the Japanese cast, sure, but I don't MIND the dub cast either.
