Dragon Box Opinion

Post by DBAlpha » Fri Aug 14, 2009 1:39 pm

I have no idea if there's a topic on this already, so here we are.Well i was wondering how this Dragon Box release from Funimation will affect other fans across the world. Myself i only have the "GT and Movies" Dragon Box so this foreign release is perfect. I'm going to have to import this from the United States. I find it very cheap, so why not? Anyone else going to import these who doesn't live in the US?

I will definitely be importing them, over here in the UK all we have is the 'LET THAT CHILD ALONE' release.

I can't even find a shop which sells Dragonball merchandise other than the manga :(

I can't even find a shop that sells the manga  I got my manga from Amazon! The only Dragonball stuff I can find is a few DVD's and some games, that’s about it.

They sell the manga in Borders and WHSmiths near me. Anyway, I had always thought that for me to buy a US NTSC release it would have to be a decent release, so I will gladly import the Dragon Boxes.

Most big book shops have them too (also from the UK), or at least some of them. The DB portion seems to be stocked a lot more than the Z portion. I bought most of mine from an Orbital Manga store. Smaller book shops usually have one small rack filled with Naruto and Bleach...

Never seen the DVD's on a store shelf in the UK. Even in the massive stores on Oxford Street. All you ever get the first 3 movies.

That said, I won't be importing the Dragon Box or anything because I'm not that fussed about the anime.

Yeah those are the only DVD's I've ever seen on sale over here.

That sig, it needs to go.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

I don't care that my account is already overdrawn by £127.37, I'm still importing! :D Probably on Amazon UK's Used & New, sometimes you can get some pretty good deals there if you're lucky enough (for example, I got a brand-spankin'-new Spider-Man Deluxe Trilogy there for about 7 or 8 quid).

Doctor Who Series One in TARDIS packaging for a tenner! Win! :D

By the by, kenshiro87, no sig images, I'm afraid. :(

Non signature on le image, et votre grenouille a mange mon dejeuner, monsieur. Tu es completement debile.

HMV had that trilogy as part of the ''3 for £20'' deal a month back.

Amazon & Play sell the Dragonball DVD's, though I usually go through eBay, and most book stores have the manga available to order and in some cases available to take away. It's through a different publisher though, but they've bought the rights from Viz so it's the same to be honest.

Like Mr Rory said though, Forbidden Plant & Traveling Man sell the manga too, they usually stock imports and have been known to have a couple of season sets available.

If you're able to get on Daizex though (the internet), it's fairly easy to get Dragonball stuff anyways!

... F***.

Well, technically, I got it for free, since they sent the wrong trilogy first. :P

See, i was considering buying the singles over here, but i thought it would be a better idea if i could save more money and just buy these new FUNi boxes. There's just too many singles and i'd rather get essentially the same release but by spending less ^_^
