FUNimation likes DBZ Abridged, I am sure they will grant them permission to use the foot age.

No, you guys are all missing the big picture here...
THIS IS TOEI'S MASTER PLAN!
They KNEW that by taking down TFS, it would cause a huge uproar that would throw the entire Dragon Ball community into chaos! Brother against brother, VegBul fan againts VegBul fan, this is what they WANTED! They are trying to DESTROY the English-speaking fanbase! Then, when we've all destroyed each other, they're gonna release their OWN version of DBZ: Abridged! FOR PROFIT!
It all makes sense now!

The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.
No, that would be too easy. Something along the lines of an AF series...Raki wrote:Dragonball Kai?Big Momma wrote:No, you guys are all missing the big picture here...

yay Clerks cartoon!
anyway, I'm just mad because until TFS figures out a loop hole there won't be a season two.

...Wait what are you doing? Are you still reading this? I finished what I had to say, why don't you move on to the next post?
They said they'll still make it, it just won't be viewable via Youtube.SparkyPantsMcGee wrote:Omg, I feel so slow...I JUST got that!Kendamu wrote:I see what you did there, Leonardo Leonardo.godofchaos wrote:I can't WAIT to tune in later and see when someone builds their own animation studio across the street from Toei Animation... So what you're saying is that I'm free to do whatever I want with the footage of From Russia with Love, since it's only a couple hours long, and there's a ton of Bond movies out there?Amigo Ten wrote:Adamant wrote:Okay, so I got ahold of the Fair Use law here:

TFS fails paragraph (3) - they've used large amounts of Dragonball video footage without permission, which breaks with the law. They've used relatively little compared to how much there is. What is it, a couple hours out of 13 or so?the amount and substantiality of the portion used in relation to the copyrighted work as a whole
"A couple hours" is a very substantial amount no matter how much total footage there is. Had they used 5 minutes out of those 13 hours, we might have some room for debate.

They didn't mention where the videos would be hosted. If I had to hazard a guess, I would go with blip.tv, mostly because of the affiliation with TGWTG.SparkyPantsMcGee wrote:where can I catch it?Big Momma wrote:

It won't happen but I don't see why not, FUNi already streams tonnes of anime on their account. It'd be a nice way to get +95,000 subscribers.Metalwario64 wrote:Yes, I am sure that FUNi will let them make that parody with their foot age.DBAlpha wrote:maybe FUNi can just distribute the show on their channel ?

I'm kinda curious here. Couldn't the owners of the suspended YT accounts use the fair use law to detest (huh?) Toei's actions? I believe Toei Animation does have an office in the U.S.
EDIT: Yes they have an office in LA and here's the address if anyone wants to write to them regarding the YT attacks:
11150 W. Olympic Blvd., Suite 1150, Los Angeles, CA 90064 USA

Heh, I was ''attacked'' by german GMBh because of the German movie openings, so 11th opening is down and now my profile is non-valid..... Few more companies or GMBh's grievances and all my profile goes down.
I'm not pissed off and going to swear like an idiot, I know that I don't own any rights for these openings and endings, lot of them are poor rips I found on the internet and others are rips of mine and support from people from other countries, no matter what is it, I don't have the rights.
But why is it that these corporations like TOEI or GMBh take down your profiles and videos without notice or warning?? Why is it that Funimation will send me notice and what they do about it is that they'll add and advertising or block that video for some country where they are distributing their material.... I don't get it. We are all people with good manners (almost maybe) and we can talk or discussing things. If some company will send me warning or short message, that they don't like this or that video and if I will take it down, I'll do it without hesitation. But no, some companies are behaving like super-powerfull industries that they seem that if they want, they'll kill you with no problem.
I really wasn't surprised by GMBh and TOEI, that German company have awful dub and want to sell their rejected releases. Only thing I like about German dub are openings, so if you want that opening, then you must buy their shit.
And TOEI? Succesful company, they'll never ask you or talk with you, they'll do it! Plus it's japanese company and have primary rights to it's creation. If someone experienced or read about Japanese culture (I mean everyday life, not traditional habits etc.) or history, he knows that Japanese nation in major never liked foreigners and is high-prided about itself. They'll never accept team four star officialy mainly because they deleted them once and Dragon Ball is theirs, no matter about other companies that have that rights too, because TOEI is on top of the pyramid and have the final world over internet and other international media, marketing and other stuff.....
So funimation don't have much power about deciding the fate of TFS on the internet even if the chief executive will love TFS's parody.
Personally, I like original japanese versions and never was fan of dub versions, but if it's about my favourite company and their behaviours and marketing strategy, I think the Funimation is example, how the company shall be. They are comunicatinbg with fan base and trying to fulfil their fan's desires and if you are in contact with them (I was via mail and youtube about some things), communication with them is really comfortable and their behaviour is friendly and non-offensive.
PS: I know that nobody will read this, so why I wrote that much?

Apparently you can. Not Bond but I stumbled upon this...

Well its not like everyone over here is xenophobic or something of that matter. In my 9 years of living here, I've had very little problems to do with that. But i'm just getting off topic. TOEI won't let TFS post up their material because its a distribution of their content on "some Youtube channel" (like what Hujio had stated). See, i suggested that FUNi do something about this because apparently some of their VA's or maybe even the staff their acknowledges TFS (for all i know, since i actually have nothing to do with or no strong knowledge of them unlike most people on here). But also like the vast majority of people on the internet posting rather silly video's on Youtube telling TOEI to fuck off or whatnot, won't make anything better. Honestly, nothing anyone can do will change the mind of TOEI, at least not anyone just posting a hate video on Youtube anyways.MCDaveG wrote:And TOEI? Well the Japanese are super nationalist which can be viewed as that. But I don't think Toei hates foreigners. They love our money and viewed those videos as a threat to their moneyflow.MCDaveG wrote:Ididn't meant xenophobic....DBAlpha wrote:Well its not like everyone over here is xenophobic or something of that matter.
