Gohan And The Man Voice Adventures.

Post by Tanooki Kuribo » Fri Jan 07, 2005 2:19 am

Since a lot of Japanese cartoons have have high pitched voices, do you think that if a Japanese person were to hear kid Gohans American voice they'd think it was a mans voice.

(Kid Gohan being from the Saiyan Saga to the end of the Cell Games)

I always thought American kid Gohan had a deeper voice (at times) then the Japanese Vegeta.

Also, in other news...look what Toei did in the 70's....

I doubt it. The Japanese have the same range of high to low voices that we do here; it's just that you generally see the higher range in characters that are supposed to be good. Thus, Luffy, Goku, and others are voiced by women, other young heroic lads (such as Trunks) have tenorish sounds, and the morally-ambiguous to downright-evil ones have baritone or bass voices. The same seems to be true of females in anime, where the high ones are the cute, innocent (or if not innocent, then cute and annoying) types and the low voices are the scheming, tomboyish, jaded or otherwise not "cute" kind. Or something. That's just my own observation.
What's not to love about a tokusatsu Spider Man? Peter Parker could use his own mech now and then... :P

I think it would surprise someone who hasn't seen the dub to hear what they'd consider such a deep voice coming out of chibi Gohan. I was surprised when I first found out Goku's orignial va was a woman. (Masako Nozawa?).
On hiatus.

...And that's why I like Saffron Henderson's version of Gohan a bit better. She had the innocence. I said this in another thread though, how Stephanie Nadolny is a bit too gruff and deep for such a young kid. Gohan was a lot.. cuter originally. >_>

I think I saw some of that Spider-man series once before...
Battle High 2, starring Kyle Hebert as well as myself, has been released on Xbox 360, OUYA, PC, Linux, Mac, and Xbox One!

Look what we did to:

____ Ranger series
Gojira
Ultra Man
etc.

completely random note (my bad) did you know the best damn dub ever done was by Disney? It was Osamu's Unico series. They did a frigging awesome job! Granted it's all old and awful but DAMN they kept everything translated perfectly and localized!

now back to regular topic. this moment of ADD brought to you by Omae

I heard about that Japanese Spider-Man series. Also read that Toei did a Japanization of Captain America which led to the super sentai series.
