Broly should be an almost completely different character than he usually is. He'll be calmer in the SSJ3 state at least. Maybe he'll actually become an interesting character. Though, from what I've seen gameplay-wise from Raging Blast, I do not expect it to be a fantastic game, so I am not expecting much. I am just relying on hope.
Gohan: At least he doesn't have his sword out anymore.
Kuririn: Yeah, and your dad put his finger away too.

I don't see why there's all the hate for AF. I think it has a pretty interesting legacy. It's a story created by fans and is has pretty much become known worldwide. How many other fandoms have an "AF?" The best part about it is, it doesn't exist.
SSJ3 Broly is a cool what-if. Of course there are better what-ifs out there, but I'd say that a little is better than none. Let's cross our fingers for the other "new" character to be Tiencha.

As long as he's got Movie 8's Brolli mentality instead of Movie 10's; I'll be ok with it.
The man's got a decent vocabulary in Movie 8, Spike; please, PLEASE let him use it.
As for who I want to be the 2nd "secret" character; Tabaru! (Table?). He didn't do much in the special, but I like him. X3
Of course, I'd also like to play as Farmer Goku with his fancy scarf who has an attack where he throws huge, bizarrely-shaped daikons at opponents, but I doubt I'd get that...
Also, Bad Man Vegeta! How have we gone almost a decade without Bad Man Vegeta happening?! o_O

I don't think I understand. Wouldn't fleshing out a so-called boring character with little personality by giving him a new form (And possibly new storyline) benefit the character more than just keeping him the same?

Looking back I think I worded that wrong. When you look at it from the way you just said then yes it would be good for his character. I just personally feel that they won't approach it like that. I feel that they're just going to come up with some lame excuse for this transformation and leave it at that. He's still gonna be the same Broly. Again that's just what I believe is going to happen and that's why I have such a problem with it. I agree with though that if done right it
could make him a more interesting character. I just doubt it will happen.
I completely respect your opinion, and I respect you. I enjoyed discussing this with you, even if I don't completely agree.
If we're all here for a reason then I'm just visiting.

Personally, I like the idea of "what-if" transformations in the games, it's a good way to provide new content for the games (which is a plus for this game, since it merely looks like BT3 in Hi-Def instead of something totally new.)
I support their idea of going bat-shit crazy with new transformations in future games. Interesting ideas could be brought to the table...
Nothing matters (in a cosmic sense.) Have a good time.

No ChiChi.
But they have a SSJ3 Broly.
Fuck you, Spike. Fuck you, fuck your children, fuck your grandchildren, yea until the seventh generation. May you be damned to the lowest regions of the Pit, to suffer for all eternity.
If I meet you, I will kill you and eat your hearts.

I wouldn't count on it.

Well, this is surprising! OK, not so surprising seeing this is the year of unreal news.
- We get the first 13 episodes of Dragonball.
- We get the fuckin' Dragonbox.
- We get Super Saiyan 3 Broly.

Next quest: Buy the Super: Broly and Super Hero Blurays, also Daima whenever that releases in the states. Also the Super Manga!
Fan of Dragon Ball Z and various other Anime since '98! ^^

We should all 'celebrate' this news by hopping onto our respective DBZ games, and beating up on Broly with the weakest possible character.

Now that there is a SSJ3 Broli its an open possibility of a SSJ5 Goku

Who knows, maybe they want to make a full fledged AF "what if" story. That would be pretty surprising, but after reading about this, i guess anythings possible at this point.

We also got the definitely weird live action movie and Kai. The 25th anniversary of DB has been interesting, that's for sure.
As for Raging Blast, have the developers given any hints about other characters? Also, have they said where the movies will be in story mode? (unlocked after Buu, unlocked as the story goes on, ignored in favor of this What If, etc.)

Ugh. I haven't been following this game much, but seeing this just filled with an emotion that crosses between anger and disappointment. Did they really have to dig into the AF-esque barrel to pull out characters for this game? Sure it's fanservice, but this is about as low as fanservice can ever get for this franchise.
Stop with this Broly garbage already, please.
Plus, reading those YouTube comments fill me with that emotion even more. =/

Today was "Business Day" at the
GamesCom in Cologne.
I have a few pictures for you. Too bad we forgot our good camera, so my cell phone cam had to do the job.

I saw wallpapers of "DBZ: Attack of the Saiyans" and a short video for "DB: Revenge of King Piccolo" in Namco Bandai's business area as well.
So, I played Raging Blast a little bit. At the beginning I was very confused. It's been a while since I played Sparking Meteor/Budokai Tenkaichi 3, but I think I know the controls. Well, the controls in Raging Blast are pretty different. Animations, moves, the feeling, general gameplay etc., all of it is just like Sparking but the controls... Ascend and descend is now on R1 and R2 rather than L1 and L2. Block is on X (or O) if I remember correctly and I couldn't find out how to power up and use specials TILL I noticed the little manual card far down under the HDTV. So, you have to press down on the DIGI PAD to power up and the right analog stick is for the specials. Pretty confusing and not very intuitive but I think you get used to it sooner or later.
Technically it was pretty good. Nice polygon count and VERY fast action. The camera on the other hand was awful. Many times I didn't see my character when I or the opponent did a fast homing dash, because the characters were BEHIND the camera. Furthermore, I can't tell much about the textures, shading and so on, because the HDTV was pretty bad. Even Tekken 6 looked like shit.
Oh yeah and no sign of "Dragonball X".

Aw, don't tell me SSJ3 Brolly's going to be the poster-boy for this game.

With the games making up new characters (fusions) and adding transformations to others (SSJ3 Broly), I'm thinking that one day there may actually be an official Dragonball AF game. If you think about it, this would be a great way to expand the universe. An all-new storyline (that Toriyama could actually pen to some extent) without all the work of animating the whole thing. They could do a fighting game with CG or anime cutscenes in between setting up a coherent storyline.
I don't want to side-track this thread, but who ever expected SSJ3 Broly in an official release of anything? It's pretty insane to me. And if that can happen, so can an official AF release theoretically.

As much as I think some Broly fanboys can be idiots, this is a great addition to the game. It's about time we got some new material/addition to the character rosters to freshen things up, and they're going down a what-if direction with this?
Bring on SSJ3 Vegeta.
