From the looks of things there is only going to be One version of each character. THANK GOD!
...Wait what are you doing? Are you still reading this? I finished what I had to say, why don't you move on to the next post?

I really liked the multiple versions. Especially since they were actually different.

I see your point, but there is no reason you could have made one Goku with multiple skill sets and techniques. Give it some RPG flair or something.

I think movesets should be like in Dissidia: Final Fantasy where you can choose the moves.

I'm not sure what people are wanting besides the barriers.

I don't mind there being only one entry for each character as long as the moves can be changed. One of the biggest things I dislike about the Budokai series is how there is no variation inside the characters. SSJ4 Goku has exactly the same physical attack as Saiyan Saga Goku. All Goku's Super Saiyan forms have the same Dragon Fist ultimate, etc.

I want weather effects SO badly. Rain, snow, heavy winds, hail, thunder and lightning. It adds a distinctive element and makes this difficult in a way that simply upping from "easy" to "hard" doesn't. X3

That's what I want, look at those punches, they look like they're actually doing something! I wish all the attacks looked heavy like that.

Yea but there is a thing called balance, if someone transformed into SSJ4 Goku you may aswell just admit defeat.

That trailer hints the weather effects. It might happen. Who knows?

I'd rather just have them all separate so I don't have to change all the skills all the time.

Definitely no extended part to that trailer.

There's a pretty simple solution to that though. I believe there's a way to tweak the capsule/potera system in order to clear the character select from multiple slots of the same character, while keeping each persona and move set. Check it out.

I also think there's a pretty simple solution to that too. Well, not simple... And not cheap either. It would also need a lot of adjustments to gameplay. But it would rock ass.

Forgive me guys, I generally don't like shameless self promotion... But it was a simple and easy way to post my rebuttals. 8)

If it's going to end up with the same result, I don't see the point in changing the way characters are handled. Having the multiple versions just seems the simplest, easiest way to do it. They could organize the character menu differently, but I don't see the point in changing it beyond that.

Don't mind the walls either. It's a fighting game, I want it to be a fighting game, and I expect a fighting game to have walls. There's only so much distance you can put between yourself and the opponent before it gets ridiculous. The stages are bigger than they were, which is nice, but I wouldn't want a massive streaming world. It'd be pointless. And looping the arenas wouldn't be much better.

Remember the "3 C's" (that I just made up). Clutter, confusion, and character count. Multiple slots are messy. I can see separating adults from their child form, but anything beyond that is overkill. All those characters can be confusing to noobie players and people who aren't familiar with the whole series. Also, NB cant claim "OMG 148 CHARACTERS, KIDZ!" and mislead us into thinking there are more than there really is.

How would it be pointless?
Like I said there would need to be adjustments, but no walls would really make the game feel massive. Can you imagine how cool it would be to start a fight in a forest and end it in a desert with no memory of when the change occurred?
I'm just saying, the developers could place a limit of space between characters. They could add a "sensing" feature or "scouter" feature.

Also the infinitely repeating stages has been done before in a 2D Dreamcast DBZ game. It was also used in Infinite World on the adventure levels. It wasn't noticeable either.

I'm really surprised at how people are so against new ideas for DBZ games. It just looks like all some people want are new characters and stages... That would be boring. See, this is why we can't have nice things.
