More TV Specials?

Would you have liked to see more TV specials in the anime? Here are a couple of specials i would have liked.

A TV special on Buu's creation and past destruction. This would have finished with Buu being sealed away on earth.

Also one on King Piccolo which covered from his split with Kami, until he was sealed by the Mafuba in the rice cooker. I think it would be nice to see Kame-sennin fighting when he was younger.

What would you guys have liked to see? Do you think Toei would make more specials in the future like these?

It's hard to have a TV special without a series, as most of them were placed between episodes.
But if I could have another animated Dragonball feature, I'd love to see Son Goku growing up with Gohan. His martial arts training, his "education", and have it all end in a full moon (we don't need to see Gohan being stepped on).

This is actually possible with Kai but I doubt Toei will want to animate new stuff.

Seriously, Child of Kattatsu and the Kami/Daimaou prehistory stuff is basically my dream movie as far as Dragonball goes. Daimaou's so effing brutal and nasty, and we could have familiar characters in the form of super-cool young Muten and Mutaito and however the hell you spell Crane Hermit's name. Both the little filler bits in DB talking about these stories are some of the best Toei's ever done, so the same crew kicking out an extended movie/special.... damn, just thinking about it makes me happy.

I'd like another special in the vein of "Ossu!". I like seeing what the characters do during their 'downtime'. Especially during that 10 years inbetween period. I swear Goku was starting to get cabin fever without anyone to fight. XD

I'd like some preludes; the whole Gohan Sr and Goku's life pre-DB, or how Bulma discovered what the DB's even where (what her life was like before the series started) and why she decided to go off on her journey.

Also, I imagine the events leading up to Gohan's wedding would be amusing as anything. XD

You know, they really could make a pretty cool little special just showing the early cast before they all met (focusing on little Goku and his Grandfather jumping to things like Bulma finding the Dragonball, Krillian being picked on and going on his own way, Yamcha in the desert, Tenshinhan and Chaoutzu under the Crane hermit, excetera) and ending with some kind of thing alluding to everyone going off on their own. During the credits they could have like a photomontage of everyone meeting up and becoming friends, it could be pretty cool.

I'm also all over the idea of a straight up day-in-the-life downtime piece jumping between the households and completely dedicated to silliness. It's fun to get to see people when they aren't fighting. (not to mention desperately needed AMV fodder for whenever I finally get started on making those.) I'd love to watch the kids grow up and run around together while their parents/friends/bodyguards sit in the background and make small talk.. or try to knock each other's brains in. Really, I'm always good with downtime for the Senshi in the vein of "Ossu".

I agree with this. The other two specials cover the other major sagas, so Buu deserves one of his own.

Love to see a special with Kurin, covering his life as a monk, then going into what he did for the series untill the end, like an epilogue sort of thing, with a death toll for comedy value!

Definately one on Dr Gero, showing how he became intersted in Androids, his career in Red Ribbon, what he did after, the other models of Androids, him capturing #17 and #18 and #19 turning him into #20.

Would be interesting to see if anything especially the #17 and #18 bits.

Great ideas guys. A special on Vegeta growing up and being used by Freeza up until he and Nappa learn of the Dragon Balls.

I would really like stuff based on early DB. It would be nice to know what the characters were doing before they met Son Goku.

I want a new special featuring SSJ3 Brolly.

Just scrap his sequels (and change slightly his first movie) and make him go into Earth after Majin Buu and have Gohan kick his ass.

I'll agree with the Piccolo backstory idea. You see this in clips in both DB and DBZ, so a full version would make sense (it'd be kind of like the Bardock special).

That'd be kind of.. boring. No action kind of defies the point of a martial arts manga, doesn't it?

But that would imply the movies are canon when in reality some of them simply are too inconsistent and full of plot holes to be canon, sorry to burst that bubble. Would've been a nice Idea though.
