Then obviously that statement wasn't aimed at you. :?
But if Funi did say something about it, the information would have been out already.
The representative said "I don't know. I'm asking around."

And then never replied with the answer.

I really hope they include both English tracks. I think everyone deserves to enjoy the series with the amazing visual quality that is the Dragon Box.

Part of me wants that (why wouldn't I want people to be happy?), yet part of me wants a more "pure" Dragonball experiance, with Sean comming back to redub Season 3.

I really doubt that they will redub anything at all. These sets aren't meant to replace the remastered sets as another new-and-improved version, but rather to appease a certain group of fans who generally don't care for the dub anyway.

I'm aware, I'm just thinking how cool it'd be, that's all. :)

We'll probably get English with Japanese BGM, as this box is actually intended for the hardcore DBZ otaku's or something like that :p

That's how FUNimation advertised it at Otakon, at least.

I can't take you seriously with that adorable avatar. Please change it and try again. :D
But yeah, getting rid of the dub's score is probably for the best really. Kikuchi's is undoubtably a better score, and this is intended for the Japanese fans afterall.

But you aren't being sensative to the needs of the dub music fan.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

Thing is, does Roark want to or need to be sensitive toward fans of FUNimation's music? Changing the music when localizing anime is a "stone age" tactic that just isn't acceptable anymore. In a release that is heavily implied to be geared toward people who think the FUNimation music sucks, a lot of people think that changing the music is keeping Dragonball Z in the "stone age" where it's looked upon as "not really anime" or "a starter anime" or some crazy bull like that. Being morally obligated to put up with that is like being obligated to be sensitive toward fans who think Dr. Gero was the leader of the Red Ribbon Army and not tell them the truth.

Regardless of anyone's opinion of it, the FUNimation music was just some stupid re-branding marketing tactic that split the fanbase.

in the first place, i dont understand why did they need to have a dub score? it was simply, more work, more cost only. unless they think that the dub score is so good that it would make more people watch DBZ, more to the extend that it would cover the cost of the dub score.

This.

Also, the dub music sucks. It needs to be eradicated from R1 Dragon Ball once and for all and this is the perfect release to do that.

The dub score was there to make the show seem more "hardcore" because apparently we Americans are just too dumb to appreciate the actual score the way the rest of the world does.

Well, Fukunaga and the Cocanougher family got to line their pockets everytime the music played on Cartoon Network. Every television set that was on CN while DBZ was on. Across the United States. Dragon Ball Z was hella popular. So they probably more than made up for the cost to make those tracks, which probably cost them about $0.03 to make anyway.

Yeah, I'm sorry to the FUNi-Faulconer hardcore fans but I think its time we drop the series with it. (Gonna make another thread on this)

Nope. This release will not be complete without it. I don't care how "stone-age" the tactic is. I don't care how "hardcore" you think the music is supposed to be. I don't care how much it doesn't fit with Dragon Ball. It's a valuable part of Dragon Ball's history in the US and those who enjoy it deserve to have their soundtrack of choice in the truly definitive release.

You deserve it? Why? Because you like it? If that's the case, I deserve for the Orange Bricks to be pulled off the shelves and for DBZ to be re-dubbed completely just because I'd like it to happen. FUNimation's DBZ music is an important part of history in terms of showing what you shouldn't do when localizing anime. In the end, I'm not going to watch it so I don't really care all that much, but just for the sake of argument I really think it shouldn't be there and you already know why.

I only like it a little bit and probably won't watch it very much. I don't like Naruto but you don't see me requesting it be taken off the shelf.

I think you just proved Kendamu's point.
