English Dragon Box Release
I agree with the general consensus here. To Hell (and/or 'HFIL') with the dub score. It should never have existed in the first place, and it's high time it gets phased out altogether and the dub fanbase is weaned off of it and starts learning to appreciate the show's REAL score.

Haha yeah. Sorry Bruce, Scott and you guys, its not your fault, its FUNimation, but your score just can't be compared to like the Kikuchi score.SSj Kaboom wrote:I agree with the general consensus here. Faulconer fans deserve to watch their favorite score in the perfect quality as much as Japanese fans. That's all I'm going t say about this shit.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

How do you "deserve" it? With all due respect, you've had your score for years - and, with the season sets, you HAVE it in quality that you always said was great. I say be done with the score for this release.jjgp1112 wrote:Faulconer fans deserve to watch their favorite score in the perfect quality as much as Japanese fans.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
See how I can use that same logic for you guys as to who "deserves" this? Everyone deserves to be satisfied by these sets.
Why the fuck should I cave in and make myself like what you guys like? Even if I already DON'T like it?SSj Kaboom wrote:I agree with the general consensus here. I'm sorry for being so hostile, but shit like having OTHER people tell me what I should like fucking pisses me the hell off. That would be like me saying they should put the Faulconer score only just so people who don't like it can realize how awesome it is.

I never said the season sets were great. YOU did, quite frequently, pop in to scream about how you were happy with your season sets. I did however admit they improved.
This isn't worth it and I apologize for my personal attack.

DBZ deserves to have an unadulterated released for once in North America. Please come off it about the mother fucking dub score. Your act is tired and is borderline lower-tier trolling at this point. Unfortunately in the case of the DBZ, unadulterated would mean no dub at all for obvious reasons I don't need to state, but I'm willing to give it a pass as long as that music isn't included.jjgp1112 wrote:Faulconer fans deserve to watch their favorite score in the perfect quality as much as Japanese fans. You want to know what the dub music did for DBZ? Go on Youtube and try to find as many AMVs as you can featuring Z clips set to "Crawling," "Last Resort," or "Break Stuff." That's the rep dubbed Dragonball has. Thank god FUNimation put "Step Into the Grand Tour" to bed once and for all. Now it's time they did the same to the dub score. If you still have such a hard on for it, that's your problem.
No, it's not. You're going keep on saying stuff about this shit.jjgp1112 wrote:Faulconer fans deserve to watch their favorite score in the perfect quality as much as Japanese fans. That's all I'm going t say about this shit.

That's just fucking ridiculous to say I'm a troll for defending the dub. Every thread that's about saying good stuff about the dub usually gets derailed by the same people and I never see any of them being called "low-tier trolls". This whole de facto gang mentality lately is what is pissing me off about this place at the moment. I stopped going to the IRC chat to avoid it but now it's sadly extending to the actual forums as well.
FUNimation has already done enough "damage," as you call it, to DBZ in America as it is, so I don't see how getting rid of a score you don't like will fix it. Let the people who DO like it enjoy it in the highest quality instead of acting like a snob about it.

Believe or not, maybe someone will buy DBZ for the first time with this first Dragonbox. Does anybody want their first impression to be the Falcouner score playing non-stop?jjgp1112 wrote:

The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

Would it actually be a bad thing if they actually, I don't know, liked it?

It's not the score for the show. The Falcouner music is a just replacement noise meant to get money. Now it's served its purpose and should take it's place with the Saban dub of the show. To be fair, DBZ needs to get in line with the rest of Funi's properties, at least in the music department.jjgp1112 wrote:What?Raki wrote:Believe or not, maybe someone will buy DBZ for the first time with this first Dragonbox. The dub score is like a stain on a carpet. A few people happening to think the shape or color of the stain is neat doesn't make it any less of a stain. It should be cleaned off.

The thing is though, even if they did include it, you still have your unadulterated release. Unless it effects the quality of the video or the other two audio tracks, I don't see why it's a big deal at all.obiwan23s wrote:DBZ deserves to have an unadulterated released for once in North America. And so what if people have AMVs set to Linkin Park or any other shitty music. That's what they enjoy and who are you to judge them because of their likes and dislikes. I think you're forgetting that they still like the same story and characters as you. They just appreciate it for different reasons.
I guess you're fine with the anime world outside of Daizex thinking that Dragon Ball is some stupid shit that people watched when they were in middle school on Toonami? Honestly, bring up Dragon Ball anywhere but here and see if you don't get laughed out the fucking door. That's FUNimation's fault, and FUNimation's altered BGM track is part of that reason. It doesn't matter if you like it or not. If you hit up Bandai and asked them to please use Faulconer's music on a Gundam show, or the second season of Haruhi, they probably wouldn't even send you a text message saying "no," that's how ridiculous it is.
I'm not trying to be a dick here. I'm just saying that in 2009 you could not logically request FUNimation or any other company to alter the soundtrack of another title. Just because you have fond memories of creaming your pants as Gohan kicked heads off of Cell Juniors isn't even relevant to the discussion. Faulconer isn't Dragon Ball and should be removed from the dub for good. End of story.

What he means to say is that including the FUNi music on there mis-represents the spirit of the show and contributes to the reputation it has for being "stupid" and that DBZ fans are "stupid" and whatnot.Innagadadavida wrote:The thing is though, even if they did include it, you still have your unadulterated release.
