Hikari No Tabi/Light's Journey

Post by RoarkVegeta » Sat Aug 01, 2009 2:48 pm

This is the closing to DBZ TV SPECIAL 1.

What are everyones thoughts on it? It makes me want to cry. Because when I was younger, I wanted to be Son Gokuu. And this song fits him perfectly.

Definitely one of the best songs I have ever heard. It's sad but in an uplifting sort of way. The montage of Goku growing up during the credits is the perfect fit for it.

It's a fantastic love song in many, many ways. It sets the mood magnificently for whatever should happen during that song.

I had dreams to Karaoke the song.

I think that should answer your question. :P

It's right there on my top-10 DB songs.

For me, the Bardock special was totally flabbergasting and that song sealed it with a golden key.

I specially like during the credits, when you get that final panel with Goku and Bardock among all the other Saiyans and Freeza. That panel was the final touch to the song don't you think?

Yep. I hate the begining of the full track, though.

The words don't kick in until about 2:05.

Still, one of my favorite songs, though. :D

It's called foreplay

As others have said, the Bardock TV special is truly an underappreciated gem - it gives some great backstory and insight to Goku and his father. Plus, as a dubbie, I was surprised to find out Sonny Strait voiced Bardock - his performance was great, considering he's voiced mostly much lighter characters in the past.

And the song.... oh my GOD, it's so good. :)

Even though the intro takes about 2 minutes (which I don't mind at all), it is definitely one of my favorite songs from the series. A perfect ending to a great movie.

Well, it's not exactly karaoke, but here is someone doing an okay rendition to the song. I love the opening piano part though....

The English version from Songs of a High Spirited Saga is pretty good too.

The '96 version cuts down the intro nicely by a minute.
