Same, but let's be real... Amazon and RightStuf have great prices. As the case with this first DBox release:
$79.98 MSRP
RightStuf: $59.99
(If ordered with the "now over" FUNimation 40% special): 47.99
What a steal!

I think Tom Dubois of "The Boondocks" said it best for me when FUNimation announced the release of the domestic Dragonbox, after buying all of the Season Sets: "MOTHERFUCK!!! SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT, PRICKS, SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIIIIIIIT!"

Nah, you read my post right. I goofed. I ordered mine through RightStuf, so there's a possibility I'll get my set in late October. I've had that in the back my head so much that it's sort of "replaced" the official street date in my mind. I just messed up.
I'm having a bit of an off day today. ^_^;

I'm just wondering though. Since RightStuf does ship out early, couldn't one assume that since many people pre-ordered the Dbox, that some might not get theirs early, and if not later than the official release date?

How do you know that the bilingual singles for example were catered for dub fans? And hasn't FUNimation already catered to sub with their old singles for example? I admit where they shot themselves in the foot was with the widescreen and hack remastering.

Ah, I figured as much.

I'm like that too, at the moment (as I also ordered mine through RightStuf). Before I commented on that, I had to actually check to make sure the official street date was in November. No worries. d^^;
Haha... Stupid RightStuf, potentially giving us things early and confusing the community. We should boycott.

I ordered my Dragon Box from rightstuf and because I'm from the UK, anyone think there's any chance of me getting it a little early?

I am getting mine right around the street date because I ordered with standard shipping. I know I am a cheapskate.

You misunderstand my post completely. The old singles were even worse than the orange bricks. Sure the subs were on there, but they were an incomplete release. Also you have to remember that many of the early Pioneer/Funimation DVDs were dub only. So the sub fanbase was screwed there. Doing a quick read on the main Daizex site should inform you on the releases throughout the years.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

I know the old releases. So they're worse because they weren't complete? Even though they had 4:3 aspect ratio and unhampered image? It was FUNimation's decision to cancel them. Back then those were the "it" releases. FUNi's blunder came when they switched to the "faux"-remastered season sets. I hope I clarified my post.

Despite the flaws in the appearance, the Season Sets were also MUCH better-encoded. Good, smooth, progressive encode that was very easy to work with, and didn't have instances of bad macroblocking and such.
However, if I understand correctly, the DragonBox footage is Progressive too. Yay.

As far as I too. Remember that FUNimation will most probably make their own encode with their Dragon Box.

An incomplete release is worse than no release at all. It drives any completer or collector mad.

They are Funimation's warehouse. If Funi didn't want them out early, they wouldn't be sending them out.

O RLY?
Haha, yeah, I know, but all the same, the "official" release date is still in November, whether or not they send it out early themselves. DragonBall Season One's street date is still in September, even though it's apparently already shipping out, for example.
Not trying to be a dick or anything... I just don't see what your point is.

The point is...
DBox is coming to us probably earlier than the release date, so we can enjoy and salvate... that is the DBOX!

I can't wait for people to get this thing early and start busting out the unavoidable dissections. I expect a DaizEX/Kanzentai collaboration feature detailing what the FUNimation DragonBox has with plenty of comparisons to the original Japanese Box.
I really can't wait! For that and the possibility of an English "Head-Cha-La"...

If they do that... I promise I will rip it and make it into MP3 format for this forum for everyone to have!
But if they do, I'll die happy!

DB and DBGT got properly dubbed openings and endings... Why not do that for DBZ as well with this set to end all sets?

Because Head-Cha-La is a really bad song. DAN DAN might be totally unrelated to GT (unless Goku's drilling Pan), but at least it's a real song. Head Chala is drunken ramblings about dinosaurs and butt-mountains.
