It doesn't even load for me. I PM'd Mike about it but he ignored me. I guess that's because it does actually work and the problem's at my end...

I think http://dbo.netmarble.net/main.asp is purposely set up for that type of internet speed.

It's working for me, but it still stutters at times. :(

Got it to load. It's nice looking. Nothing too special since it's basically the same trailer.

Really did love the She-Buu with the antennae as a ponytail. :D

Does anyone know an estimated release date for DB Online?

I think Tom Dubois of "The Boondocks" said it best for me when FUNimation announced the release of the domestic Dragonbox, after buying all of the Season Sets: "MOTHERFUCK!!! SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT, PRICKS, SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIIIIIIIT!"

I'm thinking its going to be awhile until this game hits stateside. Last I checked the game is still in beta in North Korea. Depending on how long they want to test it this game could take a few months to a year for the full release, and just in the Pacific areas. If they do decide to bring it over(has that even been confirmed?) it would take time for them to translate.

I'd say we still have a long wait.

But what has FUNi ever had to do with games.....

Ok. Ok. *rubbing temples* I want to like this game really, but right now all it's doing is making me twitch uncontrollably. I still want to find out more info because hopefully it'll get decent sometime soon.

Question. people have mentioned a new actual video but I haven't yet found it running through the posts here. Did I just miss it?

FUNimation has a contract with Namco Bandai to release Dragon Ball games in North America, although, besides the plain old Bandai logo, I don't see anything for Namco Bandai Games, which is a separate department from plain Bandai.

But, possible language barriers aside, we can still play the Korean or Japanese versions, right? Or would we need to use a proxy (which would completely ruin the experience with lag)?

Most Korean MMORPGs require at the very least a valid KSSN (Korean Social Security Number) for signup, and it's fairly common for them to block foreign IPs as well.

The little round guys are Yardratians. If you slow it down while the history book is flipping through pages, there's a page that says "YARDLAT STAR" and something about Yardratians in Engrish.

Stuff I managed to pick out from the history book:
778: 28th World Martial Arts Tournament results; Mr. Satan is the winner, with Mr. Boo in second place.

779: Lunch succeeded in her 100th breach (probably military activities). Something about Fortune Teller Baba.

780: Emperor Pilaf attempts to conquer the world; fails. Something about Karin.

790: Mr. Boo declared to take a lover.

8XX: Gohan does something.

8XX: Remnants of something.

825: "Something World", some sort of amusement park, I think.

8XX: Something about New Namek.

8XX: Something about meteors falling.

853: Something about the naming of a land.

891: Remnants of something have built something. Something about a World Martial Arts Tournament.

900: People of Planet Yardrat involved in building a time traveling machine.

974: Something about an "ethologist" Dr. H, and a Sacred Place.

988: Kinoko Rocks destroyed by a gang named Paeria.

998: Robots mass produced by Capsule Corporation.

999: ???

1000: A gulf in the sea of time. The Guardian of Time Trunks appears. Something about "Raise Rascals".

Also, here's some stuff I extracted from the website's flash files:

Can you read Korean or Japanese? I mean you would need to know what moves you have, what items do what, what your quest is etc etc. Not to mention server issues like you said(super lag).

I don't think porting it over would be to hard. Most MMOs use little voice acting and rely mostly on text so It shouldn't be hard to port over to the US...EVENTUALLY!

I can read hiragana and katakana and a very small amount of kanji. The kanji shouldn't be too much of an issue in terms of item names and so on, but it'll be a real bastard when it comes to understanding what I'm meant to do in quests. That's where online guides come in - I managed to play the Japanese DQIX for quite a long time with one until I thought I'd better stop and wait for the US/EU release. I also played several hours of the recent DBZ DS RPG without any guides or anything and I generally understood what to do next and what the items did from the descriptions. Hopefully with DBO I can transfer a character across to the US or EU servers if/when they go up.

As for that artwork above; I love it - particularly the human swordswoman.

I CAME BUCKETLOADS

I'm almost at the point where I would consider paying a monthly fee for this game(that wasn't absurd).

If we can get more information on how the game actually plays, and it's at least half as good as the character design, FUNimation would have to at least try to milk this.

~since this has been on the table for a few years now, it better not suck

Y'know, now I really want a Manga or Anime for this. With those two villainous-looking Namekians and Majin, I'd love to see how a series would playout. C'mon, V-JUMP!!!
