DBZ just isn't the same...

Discussion regarding the entirety of the franchise in a general (meta) sense, including such aspects as: production, trends, merchandise, fan culture, and more.

Don't get all sensitive. This whole thread is about disrespecting Falconer's score. So why shouldn't I be able to put in my two cents?

Dragon Ball Z isn't the same with Falcon's score. It gives off a different mood and feel to the show, regardless of whether or not you like that feel more or less than the original.

It is up to the viewer to decide which mood they prefer.

Because Falcouners score isn't the original, you wouldn't have anywhere to put that score if it wasn't for the show being produced by people who thought the original score fit the best.

It's like me ordering a signature sandwich and saying "oh no fuck you guys take off the lettuce and the meat and add some Jelly Beans and sprinkles." It's just a complete lack of regard for what was already there. If you don't like the signature sandwich that's fine don't order it but don't go there and tell the sandwich makers how much their world famous sandwiches suck and how they should follow your recipe because a small percentage of your friends like it. Just shut up and order something else off the menu.

Well then I guess Jamba Juice sucks ass since they took their idea from Orange Julius...That's really a senseless arguement. I shouldn't have to love everything that comes from the original just because it came from the original. DBZ isn't some person I have to bow down and respect, it's a kids tv show and I can point out things I don't like about it if I want to.

A lot of the posters in this thread have certainly pointed out things that don't like about Falconer. Stop being an elitist and saying you're version is better and therefore it's not allowed to be criticized.

As long as you pay for your sandwich, I don't think the store will care.

I hate Faulconer's score but there are very few places where I'll buy a sandwhich if they won't let me ask them to hold or add some ingredient.

It's not a good metaphor.

Okay fine if you want to listen to your chessy synth music then go ahead. It means nothing in the grand scheme of things. The original score is used throughout the world for the most part and America is the one country that thought we had to kiddify the music and make it nonstop. If that's the kind of shit you want to connect yourself with be my guest.

I respectfully disagree with your opinion. One thing that has always bothered me about this forum is it's bitter attitude towards dub fans or criticisms of the original version. I didn't start posting with a stick up my butt, but when I get attitudes like that for just stating my opinion, it makes me think certain people in daizex are elitist and stuck up.

I'm sorry but I just can't take anyone who says
old fat guy slamming on a synthesizer> full blown orchestra for 90% of the score seriously at all.

The dub score puts off the same vibe as a 12 year old trying to act like a "gangsta" it's not intimidating, it's not cool it just looks silly. The only person who would respect that attitude or think it's awesome are other 12 year olds.

Of course that's just my opinion maaaaan.

Yeah, but he's entitled to his own opinion as well (regardless of how serious you take it). Lord knows, I agree with your assessment, but that's no need to jump down his throat.

Debate the opinion, don't attack the opinion-holder. There is a difference.
To show my appreciation, I'll only beat them half to death.

I didn't think I was attacking anyone but sorry if I was. I suppose I get too passionate in arguments.

That sort of thing seems to be slamming the person you're responding to. At least that's how it reads.

Does it? I honestly think no reasonable person can think some old fat dude banging his fists on a synthesizer is much higher quality music then an orchestra. Or maybe I should I say I have no idea where they are coming from.

Uhh Falcouner wasn't the only one who did the dub score.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

He was the primary composer though.

Yeah..."composer".

Seriously, Faulconer didn't do jack on the music. It was all Scott Morgan and Mike Smith.

Besides, it's all opinion based. If someone wants to think that, then it's fine. No need to over exaggerate things, I mean, I could post a similar comment and say; Electronic Music>Old Japanese guy waving his orchestra thing around

Old Japanese men waving their sticks around isn't a form of music last time I checked.
