Note: I dont know if this is the FUNimation cast, the screams and moans seem a little off, especially for Gohans.

Noticed that watching on GameSpot, too. It's probably just in-house stuff as placeholders until they can get the official recordings from FUNimation.

I'm hoping the music is somehow placeholder stuff too...because the score only has slight allusions to Faulconer in it. I don't mind it so much in an American game, but I'd rather them just stick in Faulconer's score because it's a lot better than the generic tunes I'm hearing (and Gamespot's preview has the nerve to call it faithful to the original.)VegettoEX wrote:Noticed that watching on GameSpot, too. More problems I see are in the animations...they're just way too exaggerated. It hardly looks like they're fighting, and it reminds me of the way Spider-Man fights in Spider-Man 2...I just think Dragonball Z fights can be "dynamic" without all those weird looking preset combos.
And take a gander at the graphics themselves...not the worse I've seen but...why are they using cartoon shaded sprites for their rubble?! It conflicts with everything seen elsewhere.
I really can't judge much about the game...which actually looks fun generally. The promise of 2 player co-op also bolsters my hopes...but then in the developer interview and in some of the videos I see something that sends a shiver down my spine. Z-Coins...I'm sorry collectables in a game are "great" but only if they're optional. I don't like the Banjo-Kazooie drudge work of finding coins/amulets/gems/eggs/whatever just to redeem it for upgrades that lead to more drudge work. I don't think you can name too many episodes where Goku and gang took a break to go spend their Z-Coins and beef themselves up. What's wrong with TRAINING for God sakes...
I'm gonna stop ranting because there's not much to be angry about...I just wish this was the 2 player co-op game I hoped it would be. Perhaps the Work in Progress tagline attached to these videos will actually mean something when the final release rolls around. I can dream.

And I hope we'll get a japanese version with the wonderful Japanese Voice acters.

I think the movements look bad, and the game way to slow to be a DBZ game.Tanooki Kuribo wrote:http://media.cube.ign.com/media/712/712 ... ?fromint=1

It's said that FUNimation actually supervises game production, so I'm pretty sure they'll use their cast. I'm not sure about the music though. I would actually like to hear Faulconer on this one. His score isn't appropriate for the show, but it works well in games.
And yes, it does look like Budokai 1 meets Spider-Man 2.

It's party time, Ginyu style!
Oh skit! Those saibamen were freaking huge. That is the first time I ever thought that someone would have even considered the idea of larger Saibamen. I just hope that they come up with even better ideas as the game goes on.
Wouldn't it be phat to fight a buch of saiyans that will turn SSJ on your ass?

I have a pretty fast internet connection but for some reason I can't view those clips. But from the thumbnailed screen captures, I can tell this is the game that I've always wanted to make. I just hope it turns out as good as I wanted it to be.
Right now, the only DB game I'm considering to get is that one for the GBA, as well as the Jump Superstars for the DS.

I wouldn't say Spider-man 2... well, unless you mean another Spider-man 2 other than the one released last summer, as it can get confusing with all those continuities and their assorted games. Spidey offers you the freedom of an entire virtual New York. Here... you seem to be confined to a rather narrow road. Thus like ye olde scrolling beat'em ups, only now into the screen rather than along it.Fuujin wrote: And yes, it does look like Budokai 1 meets Spider-Man 2.
I think they mean the models of both games look alike, I too think the way Gokuu moves in Sagas looks quite like the way Spidey moves in SM2.

Yes, that's what I meant. Fuujin has somewhat more of a point too, because Spider-Man's melee system was actually fairly limited. However, it saddens me to think that Sagas will be even more limited in that respect. It certainly looks like it could turn out that way.Ash wrote:I think they mean the models of both games look alike, I too think the way Gokuu moves in Sagas looks quite like the way Spidey moves in SM2.
When I was watching the Goku video, I saw a series of squares as he let off some punches. Then I watched the Trunks video and a series of triangles appeared as he let off some kicks. So I think the button masing can be mixed up for different combos as opposed to spider-man. For all we know, it could have a similiar button structure as Budokai.
