Anyone want to try to make a timeline?

Discussion regarding the entirety of the franchise in a general (meta) sense, including such aspects as: production, trends, merchandise, fan culture, and more.

This page should use the "B.C." or whatever.
And this page should use the "A.D." or whatever.
A-HA! :)
So it doesn't use B.C. or A.D.! I am vindicated! Instead, it has "Age" (written in kana as "eiji") as the general referent, and anything before the beginning of this Age has "mae" ("before") written in front of it! Egads! Gadzooks! ... okay, I'll stop now. 8)
I, too, rejoice at finally knowing this. It certainly clears up all that confusion about why they'd use the Christian calendar on DB Earth. Though a few years ago, when I wasn't so skeptical about it, I used to compare it to usage of the metric system in the series.

How in the world did someone not notice this sooner? I blame whoever published the Daiz for making them so damn hard to find. I also blame Viz for not having the frickin' brain surge to release them here in the US. Heck, while I'm going on a tirade, I'll also blame George Bush, as he could have issued an executive order to Viz to release the Daiz over here, but instead is "too busy" tending to world affairs. Well, so much for the Anno Draconi calendar. Damn, and that sounded cool, too. Are we even sure that they use real month names? I'm starting to doubt everything now.

They don't use real, Roman-based names for the months, but like the Chinese, "First month", "Second month" etc.

So if it's based on a mooncalender, it would be totally different than Januari/Februari/etc

In terms of months they use the same as we do (Jan-Dec). The proof doesn't lie totally in the daizenshuu, but in the manga as well.

As for the A.D. thing, wasn't that when Earth got its first king?

I know A.D. means "In the year of our Lord," but what's Anno Draconi? I'm pretty dumb.
And I know you're just messing around, but please, johnboy, don't involve politics in Dragon Ball. :D
