Who would be stronger? SSJ3 Gogeta or SSJ4 Goku

SSJ1 Gogeta in Movie 12 was able to beat Janemba, while SSJ3 Goku couldn't. So if Gogeta was able to transform into SSJ3, would he be more powerful than SSJ4 Goku?

Base Gogeta is more powerful than SSJ4 Goku.

Probably.

Then again, SSJ 4 is not canon and from the manga`s point of view, doesn`t even exist.

But if did exist, the fusion between Goku and Vegeta would probably be more powerful.

SSJ3 Goku couldn`t even take on Super Buu, but Vegetto was way more powerful than Gohan Super Buu without even being a SSJ 3. Gogeta would probably have a similar power to Vegetto.

SSj4 Goku could never even touch Super Gogeta or Super Vegetto. The Goku/Vegeta fusions are just too strong.

Yeah but he's never seen SSJ3 Vegetto because Vegetto never reached SSJ3, or SSJ2 according to the Daizenshuu. If Veggeto did reach Super Saiyan 3... He could've been a stronger being than SSJ4 Goku. Its funny thinking that a charecter from DBZ coould be stronger than a main charecter from GT.

How would a SSJ3 anything be stronger than a SSJ4 character? SSJ4 means you're stronger than anyone below that level. Base or no base, SSJ modes are equalizers, aren't they?

Apparently not. They're multipliers, so depending on how strong the base is, an SSJ form can be even more powerful. For instance, SSJ Gotenks is far more powerful than a normal Super Saiyajin.

Think about it. Vegetto took on the strongest version of Buu with just SSJ1. No other SSJ1 in the universe could do that. Even SSJ3 Goku didn't have a chance against that version of Buu, therefore, SSJ1 Vegetto > SSJ3 Goku.

Edit: For the record, the Super Exciting Guides explain the SSJ forms something like this.

SSJ1 = x50 base.
SSJ2 = x2 SSJ (aka x100 base).
SSJ3 = x4 SSJ2 (aka x400 base).

Though only my opinion I believe SSJ4 is x500 base. It make sense since SSJ4 is SSJ Oozaru which is 50 x 10.

Actually, SSJ1 Gotenks could be more powerful than SSJ3 Goku, because Goku said while inside of Buu's body that Super Buu without the merges can still wipe the floow with himself and Vegeta. So if SSJ Gotenks is more powerful than Goku who's 2 Super Saiyan Levels above him, it would be safe to assume that SSJ3 Vegetto would be at least 1 Super Saiyan Level above Goku. Surely the difference in power between Super Saiyan 3 and SSJ4 cannot be that much greater than Super Saiyan 2 to Super Saiyan 3, or Super Saiyan to Super Saiyan 3 to ignore this logic.
