Again, we should all ditch YouTube and go to somewhere like Veoh or the like. There are many fish in the sea after all.Chuquita wrote:I know Gozar has a backup account (which, upon checking, is nearly empty atm) but its still awful when this sort of thing happens.

Knowing "youtube' I don't see why you guys are so shocked or sad. Youtube doesn't want to get sued. So they won't hesitate to pull down videos. They won't even bother to look at them to see if it's fair use or not.
The real question is why Toei is doing this? Do they feel as if they would lose money because of these videos? Are they worried that their Kai release will lose money?
And the ditch youtube thing never works. Because youtube is so popular no one ever does go some place else. Because the popularity doesn't go with them. They get more feedback because youtube is more popular than any of those other video sites. And no matter how much a person hates youtube, they will always come back, 99% of the time.
You can complain all you want. But in truth no one ever does a thing to stop this and they can't and they wont. And they will always come back to youtube. Hell, if I was youtube I rather pull down videos than rather to deal with lawsuits.

Well, I've posted an alert of sorts on my own channel in response to this.
Hi, I'm WeeklyTubeShow. Innagadadavida and I like to make videos.
Perhaps you'd like to see one.

Toe-ei is going to take it down anyway, so I feel bad that you wasted your time in making it... if it is indeed a video you made that is...Remix wrote:Well, I've posted an alert of sorts on my own channel in response to this.

So tell me if this makes sense. My account was suspended (and I had over 1,000 subs) over a video that contained a bunch of scans of stated power levels from the Viz manga and had absolutely no anime footage whatsoever.
Quite puzzling because I was under the belief that Viz, Shonen Jump and Bird Studios had the rights to the Dragon Ball manga. Not Toei.

My god! Someone with a legitimate complaint! You could try filing a counter claim to try to get your video back up.DarthVenom9808 wrote:So tell me if this makes sense. They're clearly not looking very hard at what they're removing. Toei is after the wrong people. Plain and simple. Go after AnimeHQ, they're the ones distributing the whole damn series. Yeah, you know that little logo; the upper case "A" in the bottom right-hand corner? The one that somehow makes it into a bunch of AMVs and Dubs? That's footage from AnimeHQ. On top of that, there are countless other blogspots that I can find on google that have embedded videos for the whole series.
Makes me sad.

For what? To recieve another claim for using material from Wiz? In the end, the result will be the same.Taku128 wrote:My god! Someone with a legitimate complaint! The whole thing will go like this:
- I want to put a counterclaim. I didn't use Toei's work. I used Viz's work.
- Ok, same shit. We don't want to get sued anyways.

I dunno, this one has a much better chance.Godo wrote:For what? To recieve another claim for using material from Wiz? In the end, the result will be the same.Taku128 wrote:My god! You're not breaking the DMCA by scanning the manga, something that's pretty much unavoidable with DragonBall video footage. Thus, they at least can't issue a DMCA takedown notice with it. If they use the DMCA, you have a perfectly sound counter-notice to use.
It's also much better served by the umbrella of "fair use", since you could claim it's "educational" (sorta like our "Inconsistencies" video, to a degree). Especially if you add some narration and such, there shouldn't be a problem at all. There is NOTHING WRONG with photographs (which you could argue these scans are) of physical things.
Now, if you've got licensed music and such in the background... maybe not so much...

You are right, of course, but I was referring to Youtube being...well, not so thorough with those takedowns. They go on a wild frenzy and mass-delete stuff. I mean, look at the guy's situation.VegettoEX wrote:I dunno, this one has a much better chance.Godo wrote:For what? To recieve another claim for using material from Wiz? The question is wether they even bother.
