So what are the big-name DBZ sites these days?
I just got curious thinking about it earlier when I took a look at some of my older web projects. I really haven't participated or followed the online DBZ community since around when Planet Namek went down. Daizenshuu EX here is pretty much the only regularly updated DBZ site I ever go to. But anyway, what DBZ sites are big today? Are there any Planet Namek clones with the same tons of influence on everyone as before? Are there still the same bullshit shady websites as there were before?
Are there even any? At least some sites try and do fairly well in my eyes.

Comes to mind.

I'm in the same boat... I have absolutely no idea if there are any "big" sites
. Living in my own world and not reading jack outside of it (mostly) is pretty rockin'.
And I'll keep my mouth shut about what I think of a few certain sites...

There are no "big" sites any more. The ones that would be considered "big" are the ones filled with dubbies and noobs. And I frankly just wouldnt know about those. Funimation's board is bad enough. Daizenshuu Ex and Temple o Trunks are the only ones that are still around. There were tons of big name sites 5 or 6 years ago. I think it just has to do with the fans that were introduced to it before syndication/Toonami are moving on. GGG, Majin Gohan, PN, Unrivaled, all are gone. Is Pojo's site popular?

I don't even know what "Majin Gohan" or "Unrivaled" are. Heh. And all I know about Pojo is that it has something to do with a bad magazine.
I know sites that LOOK big and are browser-intensive, advertisement-heavy piles of insignificant garbage, but I have a hard time telling if they're actually popular among fans. It's extremely hard to tell what's "popular"... for all we know, Planet Namek wasn't actually popular... it just happened to be known among the people that we all interacted with online. I'm not saying that's the case, but it's possible... it's all a perspective thing.
And besides, I always hate comparisons that involve Planet Namek
.
In the end, I'm the best there ever was. >.> I MEAN... dammit, I just love my little word that I live in, now. It's the greatest
.
And geeeeze, both the "E" and the "X" are capitalized! EX-grar!

For someone so utterly pompous and ridiculously rude, you sure have a terrible eye for the sarcasm of others.
It's amazing I haven't banned you from the chat/forum, yet, really.

I wasn't aware there were ever any "big sites" ever really. Just sites I liked, and sites that made me want to vomit out the window. I do miss DBZ Uncensored (Yes, I know a "certain group" has revived it, but they lack the charm of the original), and I really miss DragonBall-Z-GT (its still around but its never updated and many images are missing), and Daizenshuu EX is still alive. So really, I don't have much to say about the whole "big sites" deal. I know Planet Namek was a favorate among many, but to be honest that bunch was far too rude for my tastes.
Today is the same, theres the good sites, and the bad ones. However I won't list any of them here as I think most people can pick up on whats a good, and a bad DBZ website. Well...most people here anyway.

Well the only sites I go to besides Mike's, are Meri's Temple O' Trunks and #18's Lovely Cyborg.^^ Those are enough to satiate my DB fix. For sentimental fun I go to omae's and like LK, I still love Chris Psaros site, DBZ:Uncensored. And occasionally going to the bad sites and message boards is fun for a laugh.

Jerseymilk: "Can I tell you something?"
B-kun: "What?"
Jerseymilk: "I see Fangirls."

We're doing a good job at saying we we like for sites, but I think the question still remains...
What sites are actually the big, popular ones that all the kiddies go to? I see MyFavoriteGames referenced a lot on other forums, but that's really it.

Agh yes, it is popular but I hate it so much for reasons that I could go on about for days.El_Diablo wrote:DB-Unlimited is quite popular.
And run by people who are convinced they are the largest authority on DB debate / facts
There aren't many "big name" websites anymore. Most of the sites that I used to browse way back in the day are gone. Daizenshuu EX and Temple O' Trunks are the only well-known ones I remember that are still around.
Of course I probably don't know what sites are popular in the online DB community now. I haven't browsed around random DB websites for a few years now.

Heh, Planet Namek was the first dbz site I ever visited, however that was way back when I had only my old Windows95 computer so I couldn't access any of their video/sound clips or their chunks of dubbed manga.
I missed GGG when it shut down. I remember it being a pretty entertaining site, but then again this was easily three years ago so my memory's a little fuzzy on it.
There's only several main dbz sites I visit anymore, Daizenshuu EX being one of them.
I do visit dbzsc, but they don't update that often anymore and the creators seem to be shifting over to Naruto.
Heh, if you ever look at the comments people leave on their newstopics its full of non-topic-related arguements and such ^^;
One site that I visit that's really good would have to be Dragonball Arena.
It's main language is italian, but there's an english version too.
It's got tons of info and images and is a really fun site to visit.
I visit Temple O Trunks as well. It was one of the original main sites I went to (I still love the humor section there)
Other than those four I visit a mini-collection of deviantart dbz-related pages.

Pojo's Dragonball Site is like one of those crappy Geocities sites, except it's big. Anyone can submit stuff to it, and no one seem to proofread it, so we get dub names, various different fansub names and names translated by a lot of different people, (I saw Goku's name being written "Goku", "Gokuh", "Gokou", "Gokuu", and even "Soon Goku". Also, we have "Kuririn", "Krillin", "Krilin", "Kuririn", "Klilyn", "Kurilin", "Kulilin" and "Kurrin") various stuff written by people who have only seen the dub, other stuff written by people watching crappy fansubs, stuff that is downright WRONG, some really badly written stuff, dead links, ect.VegettoEX wrote: And all I know about Pojo is that it has something to do with a bad magazine.
Their magazine is, as far as I know, just random stuff taken directly from their website.
They seem to have decent coverage of the card game, but I have no idea how you even play that, so I don't know how accurate and helpful the information on that is.
I concurDBW wrote:Bring back Made From Goats!!!!!!!
...that is all.

The Shiny Bald Head Site and Made From Goats had a lot in common.
Anyway, the only sites there are, are sites with information on things that really aren't helpful but are interesting to read.
DB-Unlimited's breakdown on "auras" is an interesting thing to read. I find that to be very original.

Although it is true that their DBZ magazine sucks the 'big one', their Pokemon magazine was the best thing ever.Adamant wrote:Pojo's Dragonball Site is like one of those crappy Geocities sites, except it's big. Good lord, people keep mentioning my site and now I feel like I should actually update it if people are still looking at it. ^^;;
I too am in the dark on what's big in DBZ land nowadays. I guess I'm in the mindset the the community peaked in 2000 or so, and I don't know what's been going on since then.
