So what are the big-name DBZ sites these days?

Discussion regarding the entirety of the franchise in a general (meta) sense, including such aspects as: production, trends, merchandise, fan culture, and more.

I'm like Jers. I come here, I'll stop by ToT, and I'll go to Lovely Cyborg now and again. Other than that, I do go to the MFG fourms to post up/read fanfics. I used to go to PN but never got around to their message boards. Before then I was a member of the OOOOOOOOOOOOOLD Spirit-bomb.net fourms, which seemed to be a fairly large/popular site.

<Kaboom> Neither does Rita

*Looks through the Daizex Links section*

...These haven't updated in years, or don't work...

DBZ fansites? From what I see, they're all the same. A bunch of crappy guides and sections - either obvious knowledge nobody needs, or false information - under some shitty banner of SSJs. And they all have crappy names, too. Arrgh.

Google for "Dragonball Z". These crappy sites are today's DBZ web community, the "big name sites" of 2004, 2005, whatever year it is now. If you never leave Daizenshuu EX and it's links for your online DB needs, that's good, that's bliss. You'll regret it if you explore.

Yeah, I don't think there are many bi dbz sites left. I used to go to DBZWarriors, which was fairly big back in the day. The I went to DBZnemesis which had only a small number of members. around 100 but everyone new each other very well and got along. Otherwise I think fan sites have really died down now because the show has finished.

Planet Namek was my favorite DB site before. Of course, I never got around to the message boards or whatever seems to be the reason its disliked here so much. I just usually read the manga summaries or read up on information about the games and stuff.
Before I joined this forum, I visited that Pojo site and the Saiyan Elite Kanzenban Edition site. I found a few good bits of information on the former site, but I didn't really visit it often. And, ugh, the second site I mentioned has a pretty large biographies section. I haven't been to either site recently so I don't know.

I seem to recall Kienzan's Edge being cool. Either that or I was just jealous I never thought of a badass name like that.

The "big name" sites I recall were Planet Namek, Ginga Giri Giri!, DBZ Uncensored!, The Ultimate DBZ Info Site, Temple of Trunks, and Daizenshuu EX. Really, I used to run a crappy site myself about four years ago and I really, REALLY looked up to Mike and Meri.

I kinda fell out of the DB web community for a while, but one day on a whim I checked for Daizenshuu EX and I'm glad it was there. Now I check it every day.

I don't go to it much anymore, but I always liked Dragonballtoys.com. It mainly only covers the toys, but some of their pictures of forgien toys are pretty cool. I used to go to Future Trunks 2056 long long ago, but that was....geez, it was a while ago. And I lacked taste, so I couldn't tell you if it was decent or not. It's all sorta hazy.

Long live DaizenshuuEX!

Only other DBZ site I have bookmarked is that MyFavoriteGames one. It had a lot of good information charts and stuff, which was what I was trying to find at the time I searched and found it. *shrug*

While on the topic of old DB websites, does anyone remember the Little Saiyaling comics? I recently tried looking for them again but I had no luck with it. They were hilarious.

OH MAN I LOVE LITTLE SAIYALINGS!!!! I actually printed them all out one time, up to the end of the 18 taking over class arc. I am so glad these still exist.

I e-mailed one of the staff members of Planet Namek back when they took the "Little Saiyalings". He told me that they were going to add new characters (Piccolo for an example) around the 300th comic.

That would be funny to see a miniature Piccolo. Back on "Dr. Gero's Laboratory" (down now) there was a picture of the LS version of Piccolo and Vegeta holding up picket signs. The message was something like "We want updates!"

EDIT: BTW, did anyone forget about all of the old DragonBall Z humor-based sites?

Thank you so much!! It's been so long since I've read these, I'm probably really behind.

I was introduced to Little Saiyalings a while ago, and I actually took the time to read every strip. Yeah, I have no life. But it doesn't seem to have been updated in like...a year.

I remember SomeRandomGuy's DBZ Rewrite. The first few chapters of that thing contained some of the funniest shit ever composed.

I first heard of Daizex (yes, EX, I know, but this is more fun to pronounce :P) from PlanetNamek, and visited from there. Then this site went down one day, and was disappointed. Then somehow, following what I thought was a dead link, this site was back again! Good times.

Man, I feel like cracking open a beer.

Yeah, when I went to look for the strips I hadn't seen, I realized there weren't that many. I'm kind of disappointed to not see anymore of it but I'll live.

DBZ Rewrite was hilarious. It can still be read on fanfiction.net:

And the movie:

I really recommend that everyone read it.

OMFG...that Dragonball Z Re-write is the funniest thing ever written. The part in chapter 2 about Vegeta, the whole super-saiyan fiasco...Wow. I litterally fell out of my chair lauging.
