Freeza's battle power was 120 million. Gokû's was 150 million. Gokû was so much stronger than Freeza he evcen said their fight was boring.

I must have missed this part.

Freeza got a few good hits off once in Full-Power, but Goku was dominating the fight as a whole. Goku said he wanted a good fight out of Freeza, so he was probably holding back to some small extent.

No it was a Death Beam, but that was before Freeza powered up. He was operating at about 50% when that happened, at best. I'm not sure Goku would be able to brush off the same attack from 100% Freeza quite as easily.

To be fair, though, I suppose that Freeza's loss wasn't really all that due to Goku's overpowering him, was it?

Yep. I'd say he lost as soon as Goku became a Super Saiyan, but...to be a bit more specific, it was when he reached his peak and his ki began to drop. After that everything he did were just desperation attacks.

Agreed. Even though he was only 80% of SSJ Goku's strength, they were still in the same league, meaning victory was unlikely, not impossible. Once he reached his peak and his ki started dropping, the gap was getting bigger and he started fighting less efficiently.

It's basically implied and almost stated that Super Saiyan Son Goku is stronger than Freeza at 100% power. Why do you think Goku was so confident in beating him that he would allow Freeza to power up to his maximum power? And Goku let Freeza give him that beating at the start. He wanted to test Freeza's strength. Refer to Goku's statement after the event.

There is no way Freeza is stronger than Goku or had a hope of beating him. He was weaker than Goku by a miniscule amount, but once his power started dropping he had no chance. And Goku told Freeza that he's met somebody who has surpassed the supposedly unsurpassable Freeza. Maybe Goku was cocky, but not so cocky to say he's stronger than Freeza just because Freeza got tired. And for Freeza to be stronger than Goku, it wouldn't give quite the satisfactory ending to the Freeza Saga that everyone wanted - the legendary Super Saiyan finally awakening to his true power, but only beating Freeza due to an energy drainage?. It was Freeza's dumb actions that allowed him to be defeated, and it was Goku's Super Saiyan that gave him the power to do it.
